I’m leaning towards Mississippi State here. I get the case to be made for Florida as the Gators have passed pretty much every eye test up to this point in the year and have looked like a contender the entire time and the win over Auburn I’d imagine only adds to that. However, This is a bad spot for Florida, head on the road for back-to-back road games after that massive win, against a Mississippi State team that could use a big win like this to strengthen their NCAA tournament resume and aim for a higher seed come March. I’ll take a shot on Mississippi State at home in this one.

Vanderbilt Looks to Bounce Back

Florida has confidence heading ino this game and they have won three games in a row. Two games ago against South Carolina it wasn’t the most dominant game but they were able to secure 70-69 victory. In the last game against Georgia it was a more dominant game and they were able to secure the 89-59 victory. Walter clayton Jr had a strong game putting  17 points, five assists, and three rebounds. There were five different players that put up at least 13 points to pace the team.

This is a balanced attack and one of the most complete teams. Tennessee Suddenly Struggling 

Tenneesse is really struggling heading into this game and they have lost two straight games. Two games ago against Auburn, they lost 53-51, and in the last game against Kentucky, they lost 78-73. In the second half they were outscored 48-40 and that led to teh defeat. Tennessee shot 34.7 percent from the field and 24.4 percent from behind the three point line. In this game if Tennessee wants to find success they are going to need to shoot a higher percentage.

Georgia Bulldogs Betting Preview

Georgia has a pretty good record so far this year, but the team has fallen on some spotty times in the record column lately. All went well through the first 13 games though, as Georgia put up a nice 12-1 run during that time. The Bulldogs fell to only Marquette on November 23, otherwise dispatching Tennessee Tech, Texas Southern, North Florida, Georgia Tech, Alabama A&M, St. John’s, Jacksonville, Notre Dame, Grand Canyon, Buffalo, Charleston Southern and South Carolina State along the way. Over the last six games however, Georgia has limped to a 2-4 run. The Bulldogs took out only Kentucky and Oklahoma in that half-dozen outing span. The losses otherwise came versus Ole Miss, Tennessee, Auburn and Arkansas in a string of tough opponents, giving Georgia a 14-5 overall record through the first 19 games this year.

In the Arkansas matchup on Wednesday, the Bulldogs were sitting pretty by halftime sporting a 38-26 advantage. Georgia was blitzed in the second half however, and got pummeled 42-27 on the way to a rough loss 68-65. Asa Newell led the team in the defeat with 18 points and eight rebounds with one steal. RJ Godfrey added 11 points with three rebounds. Somto Cyril and Se’Shayne Montgomery each had five points off the bench with a combined seven boards.

Florida Gators Betting Preview

Over on the Florida side, they’ve been a remarkably consistent team so far this year. The Gators have only a couple of blemishes in the books through 19 games. A win streak opened up the year through their first 13, as Florida dispatched South Florida, Jacksonville, Grambling, Florida State, Florida A&M, Southern Illinois, Wake Forest, Wichita State, Virginia, Arizona State, North Carolina, North Florida and Stetson. The Gators would take their first loss on January 4 to Kentucky 106-100, but then rattled off a couple more wins over Tennessee and Arkansas in the ensuing pair. Florida would lose again to Missouri, but then took out Texas and South Carolina for a 17-2 overall record so far this season.

Matched up against South Carolina in their Wednesday outing, the Gators were in trouble at halftime with a 36-29 deficit. Florida cleaned up their act in the second, notching a 41-33 run for a 70-69 victory in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Will Richard with 22 points, four boards and three steals. Walter Clayton added 16 points with seven assists and four rebounds, while Alijah Martin put up 14 points with three steals, two assists and two rebounds.

Florida vs Georgia Prediction

I’m going to stay with Florida. The Gators need to post a bounce-back effort here after a too-close-for-comfort one-point win over a middling South Carolina team in their last game. Florida ended up shooting 42.4 percent from the field in that one and got outmuscled on the glass 36-31. The Gators notched 22 points off 15 Gamecocks turnovers though, which really helped fuel the comeback bid. Florida has been quite the reliable scoring team so far this year. They’ve hit 70 or more points in all 19 games so far.

As for Georgia, they didn’t post their greatest effort versus Arkansas despite holding the Razorbacks to just 31 percent shooting. The Bulldogs were out-rebounded 40-30 along the way and had 13 turnovers for 14 Arkansas points. Georgia has been below 69 points in three straight games (all losses) and this will be another tough matchup in what’s been a difficult string of games. I don’t think Georgia has the muscle to keep up with Florida, especially if the Gators return to form and play to their capabilities.

I’m with Florida here. The Gators just continue to pass every one of my eye tests when I watch this team, while the Gamecocks find new and creative ways to lose left and right. Sometimes the games are close, and sometimes, like against Oklahoma, not so much. We’ve seen the Gators demolish inferior opposition, far more often than not this season and I’m not really in the business of stepping in front of the Gators, especially when the Gamecocks are the alternative. Texas Longhorns Betting Preview

The Longhorns have been pretty darn consistent for most of the 2024-25 season, though it’s worth noting that they’ve run into some trouble during some very difficult matchups lately. Texas opened with a loss to Ohio State, then took out Houston Christian, Chicago State, MS Valley State, Syracuse, Saint Joseph’s, Delaware State and NC State in the next seven games. Another loss to UConn came in early December, followed by wins over new Mexico State, AR-Pine Bluff, New Orleans and Northwestern State. Following losses to Texas A&M, Auburn and Tennessee in the next trio of outings, the Longhorns finally stopped the bleeding with a win over Oklahoma, giving them a 12-5 overall record through 17 games so far this year.

In the Oklahoma matchup, the Longhorns jumped out to a comfortable lead 43-27 by halftime. Texas had to scramble a bit in the second half on a 46-34 deficit, but still came out on top 77-73 by game’s end. Jordan Pope led the team in scoring with his 27 points, two rebounds and four steals. Tre Johnson added 16 points with four rebounds and three steals, while Tramon Mark put up 15 points with three boards, one assist and one steal. Ze’Rik Onyema scored the lone bench point with one rebound in there minutes on the court.

Over on the Florida side, they’ve been an incredibly consistent team themselves so far this year. The Gators have only recently run into a bit of trouble in the win column. Florida kicked off the season on a stellar 13-game win streak. Those victories came courtesy of South Florida, Jacksonville, Grambling, Florida State, Florida A&M, Southern Illinois, Wake Forest, Wichita State, Virginia, Arizona State, North Carolina, North Florida and Stetson in succession. Since then however, it’s been a 2-2 run over the last quartet of outings. Florida has wins over Tennessee and Arkansas in that time, sandwiched between losses to Kentucky and Missouri for a 15-2 overall run through the first 17 games of the 2024-25 season.

Matched up against Missouri in the Tuesday game, Florida was hit over the head in the first half with a 50-34 deficit. The Gators fought back and made a game of it on a 48-33 second, but eventually lost a tough one 83-82 in the end. Walter Clayton topped the team in the losing effort with 28 points, five boards and three steals. Will Richard added 12 points with three rebounds and one steal, while Rueben Chinyelu doubled up on 11 points, 10 boards, two blocks and one assist. Florida shot well in that one (48.1 percent) but also missed 10 of 31 free throws (67.7 percent) and had 13 turnovers for 18 Tigers points. In short, it was a very winnable game that Florida gave away statistically. The good news is that the Gators continue to score well. They’ve hit 71 or more points in all 17 games so far this season and should be able to continue that trend against Texas.

Speaking of the Longhorns, they played pretty well against a good Oklahoma team in their last win—despite 15 turnovers for 17 Sooners points. Texas is scoring well themselves this year with 70 or more points in seven of the last eight games (a 5-3 run). In a tough road matchup against an angry Florida team however, I don’t think Texas will quite keep the pace.

Missouri Tigers Betting Preview

The Tigers got off to a nice start over their first 11 games this year, but they’ve had some tougher matchups in a choppy run lately. Missouri fell to Memphis in their opener, then bounced back with a winning streak over Howard, Eastern Washington, Mississippi Valley State, Pacific, Arkansas Pine Bluff, Lindenwood, California, Kansas, Long Island University, and Jacksonville State. A 1-2 stretch commenced after that with losses to Illinois and Auburn around a win versus Alabama State. The Tigers have picked up a couple of wins in their last pair however, taking out LSU and Vanderbilt on the way to a 13-3 overall record so far.

Back on Saturday in the Vanderbilt game, the Tigers came out of the break looking up at a 41-32 advantage on the scoreboard. Missouri closed on a 34-34 run in the second half and picked up a solid win 75-66 in the end. Mark Mitchell was the leading team contributor with 19 points, seven rebounds, and one assist. Anthony Robinson added 15 points with eight assists and three steals, while Caleb Grill came off the bench to contribute 13 points, five rebounds, two steals, and one assist in 28 minutes of action on the floor.

Over on the Gators’ side, they opened up the 2024-25 season on a stellar run before finally taking their first loss. Florida has picked it back up with a couple of wins since then. In that opening 13-0 run, the Gators powered out wins over South Florida, Jacksonville, Grambling, Florida State, Florida A&M, Southern Illinois, Wake Forest, Wichita State, Virginia, Arizona State, North Carolina, North Florida, and Stetson in succession. Following their first (and only, so far) loss of the year versus Kentucky on January 4, the Gators have since dispatched Tennessee and Arkansas in their last two outings for a 15-1 overall run so far this year.

Matched up against Arkansas in their Saturday game, the Gators entered the locker room holding a slim three-point lead 28-25. Florida didn’t end up falling any further behind than that, posting a 43-38 advantage in the second half on the way to a nice win 71-63. Alijah Martin was the team’s top scorer with 14 points, four boards, one assist, and one steal. Alex Condon doubled on 12 points with 10 boards and four assists. Both Will Richard (eight rebounds) and Walter Clayton (five assists) posted 12 points apiece in the road victory as well.

Florida vs Missouri Prediction

I’m sticking with Florida, even though the line’s a little hefty. The Gators didn’t suffer that proverbial “big-win hangover” in their latest matchup with Arkansas, riding a 49-39 rebounding edge to an eight-point road victory. The shooting wasn’t that great (39.1 percent), but Florida was a menace on defense. The Gators held Arkansas to just 30 percent shooting from the floor on the other side. Florida is cooking on offense this year. They’ve hit 71 or more points in all 16 games so far and should notch another solid total here as well.

As for Missouri, they didn’t have too many issues with Vanderbilt in their latest win, posting 49 percent shooting with a 33-29 rebounding advantage. The Tigers did cough up 14 turnovers though, and if they’re careless with the ball here the Gators will make them pay for it. Missouri has scored very well all year themselves, posting 68 or more points in all 16 games so far. I like this one to be another sizable total on both sides, with Florida asserting their dominance in an eventual cover. Should be a fun matchup, though. It’ll be a good one to watch.

Florida Gators Betting Preview

This year the Gators are cooking in the win column, and they’ve quickly become one of the most dangerous teams in the country. Florida has proven that they can play with any other team that steps on the court. It all started with a 13-game win streak. Those victories came versus South Florida, Jacksonville, Grambling, Florida State, Florida A&M, Southern Illinois, Wake Forest, Wichita State, Virginia, Arizona State, North Carolina, North Florida and Stetson in succession. The Gators would take their first (and only) loss versus Kentucky 106-100 last Saturday, but quickly rebounded with a big win over No. 1-ranked Tennessee in their last showing for a 14-1 record overall so far this season.

Florida jumped right down the Volunteers’ throats from the opening horn in their latest win. The Gators went into halftime with a 34-15 advantage, then finished off on a 39-28 run for a dominant 73-43 victory. Leading the charge was Alijah Martin with his 18 points, six boards and two steals. Denzel Aberdeen added 16 points and two rebounds, while Alex Cordon put up a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds with four assists and two blocks. Leading the rebounding was Rueben Chinyelu with 15 alongside four points and a block in the win.

Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview

Over on the Arkansas side, they’ve been a pretty strong team so far this year as well, but they’re yet to really break through against top-shelf national competition. Arkansas beat Lipscomb in their opener before a loss to Baylor in game two. The Razorbacks would take out Troy, Pacific, Little Rock and Maryland Eastern Shore in the next four before a loss to Illinois. Arkansas hit a win streak after that versus Miami, UTSA, Michigan, Central Arkansas, North Carolina A&T and Oakland. The last two games have both been losses however, as Arkansas has fallen to very good teams in Tennessee and Ole Miss for an 11-4 overall record this year.

In the Ole Miss game back on Wednesday, the Razorbacks entered the second half sporting a 33-33 tie. Arkansas fell behind the rest of the way however, taking a 40-33 deficit to the final buzzer for a 73-66 loss in the end. Leading the team in scoring during the losing effort was Adou Thiero with 17 points and nine rebounds. Johnell Davis added 15 points and three rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench, and Boogie Fland had 14 points with six boards and five assists. DJ Wagner chipped in 11 points and two rebounds as well.

Why the Arkansas Razorbacks will win

Arkansas vs Florida Prediction

I’ll take a stab on Arkansas here. The Razorbacks do need quite a bounce-back effort after a limp second half against Ole Miss in their last outing, though. Arkansas shot just 37.3 percent from the field in that defeat with 21.7 percent (5-of-23) from 3-point range. That said, the Razorbacks were competitive on the boards (a 36-35 deficit) and had just six turnovers. Arkansas has had a couple of very tough matchups in their last pair, scoring just 117 combined points in those two. If the Razorbacks can catch Florida sleeping after the Gators’ big win over Tennessee however, Arkansas could sneak in there for a cover.

Speaking of Florida, they held Tennessee to just 21.4 percent from the field and had a dominant 56-37 edge on the boards. The Gators didn’t shoot well themselves however (39.7 percent), so there’s plenty of room for improvement. Florida is a stellar scoring team this year and should put up a big number here as well. That said, if Arkansas can get it together and play well at home I could see the Razorbacks sneaking in for a cover.

Florida Shouldn’t be Disappointed

Florida shouldn’t be disappointed over their last loss. Florida scored 100 points against Kentucky but the defense just didn’t make enough stops. At halftime, they were down 52-42 and even though they fought back in the second half they still ended up losing. Walter Clayton Jr put up 33 points, five assists, and three rebounds. There were four different players that put up at least 10 points. Two games ago against Stetson, Florida was able to secure the 85-45 victory. 

Florida on the season is averaging 88.3 points while their defense is giving up 66.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 5th in the league while the defense is ranked 64th. They are averaging 42.8 rebounds per game which is tops in all of college basketball. In this game, Florida is going to need to get the offense out to a fast start, and they are going to need to put the pressure on. Especially late though, the defense is going to need the defense to be a whole lot better.

This is a big test for Tennessee but they have all kinds of confidence after they were able to secure the victory in the last game. Tennessee faced off against Arkansas in the last game and the defense gave p only 52 points while the offense scored 76 points and that was enough for the victory. Tennessee shot only 39.1 percent from the field but they did shoot 38.5 percent from behind the three-point line. Chaz Lanier had a strong game putting up 29 points and two rebounds. There are four different players that put up at least 10 points. In this game that defense is going to need to be good again to really put the pressure on. 

Tennessee on the season is averaging 79.8 points while their defense is giving up 55.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 55th in the league while the defense is ranked 64th. Tennessee still hasn’t lost a game yet this season, but this is still a huge test for them. Tennessee will play against Texas, Georgia, and Vanderbilt following this one.

Florida vs Tennessee Prediction

Yes, Tennessee is undefeated, but they are going to really struggle here. Tennessee’s defense has been good giving up only 55.9 points per game but this game is not going to be as good here. Florida is going to have no issue running up the score and although they might not reach their season average, they are going to score enough to get the job done here. They are shooting 47.3 percent from the field which is 87th best in the league. As a team, they are averaging 16 assists per game which is 82nd in the league. Florida is fully healthy heading into this game. Walter Clayton Jr is averaging 17.2 points while shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 37 percent from behind the three-point line. Florida will meet Tennessee after this game.

It’s another big test for Kentucky and a win here would make another big statement. In the last game, Kentucky faced off against Brown, and they scored 88 points while the defense gave up only 54 points and that was enough for the 34-point victory. Kentucky shot 50 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from behind the three-point line. Kentucky used a balanced attack and they had four different players that were put at least 13 points. Even though they looked good in the last game, Kentucky didn’t look good two games ago against Ohio State. Kentucky scored 65 points, while the defense gave up 85 points and that led to the defeat. 

Kentucky on the season is averaging 89 points while their defense is giving up 71.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 3rd in the league while the defense is ranked 186th. Otega Oweh is averaging 15.9 points while shooting 50.7 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from behind the three-point line. Kerr Kriisa is dealing with a foot injury, and he’s out indefinitely. Otega Oweh has been the top player overall this year, averaging 15.9 points while shooting 50.7 percent from the field. Kentucky will face Georgia following this one.

Kentucky vs Florida Prediction

Give me Florida here. Two games ago, Kentucky looked awful against Ohio State, and the biggest reason was the defense giving up 85 points. This Gators offense is averaging 87.4 points per game and they are going to have no issue running up the score here. Now they might not go over their season average but they are going to have no issue running up the score, and that is going to be the difference here as Florida is going to get the job done. Stetson Hatters Betting Preview

Stetson won their opener, then took losses to Omaha, the Citadel, Oklahoma, Toledo, East Carolina, La Salle, South Florida, Mercer, FIU and LSU in the next 10 games. Last Sunday’s matchup was finally a win, though.

Florida has scored 83 or more points in five straight games, and 81 or more in 11 of 12 so far. It’s going to be very difficult for Stetson to keep any kind of pace here.

Speaking of the Hatters, they finally got another win in their last outing but Sunday’s matchup will be a near-impossible task. Stetson has given up 77 or more points in four straight games and will likely keep that going here as well. I’m not touching it due to the hefty line, though.

The Florida Gators are downright rolling at both ends of the floor, which includes one of the best defenses in the country. Florida is also 7-3 ATS on the season. Not looking to step in front of these Gators. I’ll lay the reasonable number on Tuesday night.

The Florida Gators are 7-5 (4-4) this year and they finished 10th in the SEC standings. Florida finished the regular season with a 31-11 win over Florida State in their annual rivalry game. Florida also has wins over Ole Miss, LSU, Kentucky, UCF, Mississippi State, and Samford this year. The Gators do have five losses against Miami, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Georgia, and Texas, but they have won three games in a row coming into this game.

Florida does have quite a few injuries on their defense, but they don’t have much production in the transfer portal (as of right now). 

Tulane Green Wave Betting Preview

The Tulane Green Wave are 9-4 (7-1) this season and they finished second in the AAC standings. Tulane did make the conference championship game, but they lost to Army by a score of 35-14. Tulane has nine wins against Navy, Temple, Charlotte, North Texas, Rice, UAB, South Florida, Louisiana, and SELA. The Green Wave has four losses against Kansas State, Oklahoma, Memphis, and Army. Tulane did end the season with two losses to Memphis and Army, but they did win the previous eight games. 

The Tulane offense has scored 37.2 points per game with 215.8 passing yards and 205.4 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 19.7 points per game this season. Tulane’s starting quarterback, Darian Mensah, transferred to Duke, so he will not be playing in this game. The Green Wave’s second and third-string quarterback are also in the portal, but Ty Thompson plans to play in the bowl game.

Florida has much more talent than Tulane does, so the only question is if the Gators will care about this bowl game. I do think we will see a good effort in this game from Florida, as they have a ton of momentum right now, and finishing this schedule with eight wins would be a big positive. Take the Gators to win big.

Arizona State’s lone loss came in a close game with Gonzaga, but their top two wins are against New Mexico and St. Mary’s, so they really don’t have a solid win yet. Both teams have been very strong on offense this year, but the ASU defense has had some issues, as they are allowing over 71 points against per game. The Virginia Cavaliers beat Manhattan and Holy Cross, and they play SMU, Bethune-Cookman, and Memphis next. The Virginia Cavaliers are averaging 62.1 points on 44.8 percent shooting and allowing 58.7 points on 38.6 percent shooting. Isaac McKneely is averaging 13.3 points and 3.6 rebounds, while Andrew Rohde is averaging 10 points and 3 assists. Dai Dai Ames is dishing 2 assists and Elijah Saunders is grabbing 5 rebounds. Florida vs Virginia Prediction

The Florida Gators are one of the more talented teams in the country, and they’re downright rolling at both ends of the floor. Virginia feels like a shell of what it’s been in past years, and oddsmakers are catching on. With that said Virginia still defends at a high level and is shooting its threes well. Maybe it’s because we’re not used to seeing lines like with the Cavs, but I can’t leave this many points on the table with a team that can defend. It may not be pretty, but I’ll grab the points with Virginia.

Florida Dominated on Thursday

Florida sure looked good on Thursday against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Florida State scored 75 points but even more impressive was the defense giving up 58 points. They held Wake Forest to only 37.5 percent from the field and only 15 percent from deep. There were four different players that put in at least 12 points. Walter Clayton Jr had a strong game putting up 21 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Florida on the season is averaging 86.3 points while their defense is giving up 66.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 102nd while the defense is ranked 161st. Alijah Martin has been the top player for Florida averaging 16.7 points while while shooting 43.8 percent from the field. 

Wichita State Pulled it Out

It wasn’t the prettiest game on Thursday against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, but they were able to secure the win. It took overtime, but they were able to secure the 68-66 victory. The Shockers shot 45.6 percent from the field, but only 28.6 percent from the field and that is going to need to be better in this game. Two games ago against Saint Louis, Wichita State scored 88 points and they cruised to the victory. Wichita State is averaging 80.8 points while their defense is giving up 70.2 points per game. The offense is ranked 102nd in the league while the defense is ranked 161st. Justin Hill is averaging 17.4 points while shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from behind the three-point line. 

Florida vs Wichita State Prediction

Wichita State is going to get blown out in this game. Florida gave up only 58 points against Wake Forest and the Shockers offense is going to really struggle to get the offense going here. Wichita State is going to really struggle to get the offense going here, and it’s going to be ugly. Florida is going to get close to 80 points, and this game is going to be a blowout. Back Florida against the spread. There is never such an easy thing in betting, but this should be comfortable.
