Oklahoma State is really struggling heading into this game and all season that has been the case. Two games ago against TCU, they were competitive, but they ended up losing 73-72. In the last game against Texas Tech, it wasn’t as close and they ended up losing 92-55. At halftime, they were down 43-24 and they couldn’t bounce back. Marchelus Avery had a strong game putting up 13 points and five rebounds, but he was the only player that really found success with the offense. 

Oklahoma State currently sits with a 12-13 record overall and they have gone 10-15 record overall. At home this season they have gone 9-3 straight up. Oklahoma State is averaging 872.2 points while their defense is giving up 75.2 points per game. The offense is ranked 240th in the league while the defense is ranked 278th. UCF is Suddenly Struggling

UCF is suddenly struggling heading into this game and they have lost six games in a row. Two games ago against Iowa State, they lost 77-65 and in the last game against Colorado, they lost 76-63. In the second half, they were outscored 38-27 and that led to the defeat. Keyshawn Hall had a strong game putting up 19 points, nine rebounds, and one assist. Darius Johnson put up 15 points, three rebounds, and one assist.

Oklahoma State is going to find success in this game. At home, they have been a solid team this year, and I just don’t trust the UCF defense. UCF is giving up 79.4 points per game and they are going to have some major issues again here. Oklahoma State hasn’t been exactly known for their offense but they are going to have no issue putting on a show here. This is going to be a comfortable victory for Oklahoma State. Colorado is also not only losing games, but is 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games. If Colorado is going to win a game the rest of the season, it would probably be this one. Still, if forced to pick, I’m rolling with UCF due to Colorado not winning a game in two months.

Can UCF Make Enough Defensive Stops?

One thing we know about this UCF team is that they can really score, but their defense has proven to be an issue at times, and that has to be a concern heading into this game. In the last game against BYU, the offense scored 75 points, but the defense gave up 81 points and that led to the defeat. This is a team that gets a ton of shots up, and they are 34th in the league in terms of shots per game. Keyshawn Hall is averaging 18.1 points while shooting 43.5 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from behind the three-point line. Early stops in this game are going to be key to coming away with a victory. 

Must win for Cincinnati?

As Cincinnati has been up and down in the Big 12, this feels almost like a must-win as they try to improve their stock for the NCAA tournament. Cincinnati has lost four games in a row and three of the games weren’t all that close. Two games ago against Utah was the closest and even that one they lost 69-66. In the last game against West Virginia, the offense only managed 50 points, and that led to the defeat. The Bearcats shot only 31.5 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from behind the three-point line. 

The Bearcats sit with a 12-9 record overall, and they have only gone 7-14 against the spread. The over has only hit in three of the games. The Bearcats are averaging 70 points while their defense is giving up 63 points per game. The offense is ranked 283rd in the league, while the defense is ranked 14th. In this game, it’s going to come down to if the offense can get enough going. Simas Lukosius is averaging 12 points while shooting 41.3 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from behind the three-point line. 

UCF vs Cincinnati Prediction

Trusting either of these teams feels pretty scary, but I just don’t trust this Bearcats offense, even against a bad defensive team. This UCF team has pushed the pace and run up the score against everyone. UCF is averaging 79.6 points per game and they are going to have no issue running up the score here. UCF isn’t a high-scoring team by any means and I’ve still had trouble buying into UCF despite their schedule giving them a lot of favorable spots at home up to this point. LSU Tigers Betting Preview

The Tigers got off to a nice start this year, taking four straight victories to kick things off. LSU beat LA-Monroe 95-60, Alabama State 74-61, Kansas State 76-65, and Charleston Southern 77-68 during that quartet.

On Friday versus Pittsburgh, LSU took their first loss of the season. The Tigers were doing well in the first half with a 28-27 advantage, then fell behind on a 47-35 run for a 74-63 loss. Jalen Reed and Vyctorius Miller led the way in the losing effort, each with 14 points.

I’ll lean toward UCF, but you could call this one either way. The Knights need a bounce-back effort here after a rough outing versus a great Wisconsin team, though. UCF shot a measly 33.9 percent from the field in that one, alongside a horrid 11.8 percent (2-of-17) from 3-point range in the defeat. It was the first time in a four-game span that the Knights had scored fewer than 75 points.

As for LSU, they didn’t fare much better against Pitt with 37.3 percent shooting and 23.8 percent (5-of-21) from outside alongside 15 turnovers. LSU did fairly well rebounding, however (35). The Tigers had scored 74 or more points in each of their previous four games. Sunday’s matchup should be a pretty high-scoring affair if both teams can get their proverbial groove back. It’ll be an entertaining matchup regardless.

Wisconsin Badgers Betting Preview

The Badgers have gotten through five games unscathed so far, and the first four were blowouts. Wisconsin beat Holy Cross 85-61 in the opener, then Montana State 79-67 and App State 87-56. Game four was a 103-88 win over Arizona.

Wisconsin played their closest game so far against UT Rio Grande Valley on Monday. The Badgers were down 52-48 by the break, then surged on a 39-32 run to take the win 87-84. John Blackwell logged 30 points with seven rebounds in the comeback.

I’ll probably take a stab at UCF. The Knights are coming off a pretty strong effort against a middling Tennessee Tech team, despite slowing down in the second half. UCF shot 42.9 percent in that one with a dominant 51-28 rebounding edge (22-9 offensive) but did have 12 turnovers. The Knights have scored 75 or more points in three straight games.

As for Wisconsin, they barely escaped a sneaky UTRGV team in their last matchup despite shooting 49.1 percent from the field with a 32-27 rebounding edge. The Badgers have scored very well this year themselves with 79 or more points in all five games. UCF is really going to have to hit the gas on offense here, but I think they can do it.

UCF Knights Betting Preview

The Knights started off the season with three straight wins before hitting a losing streak versus Colorado, Florida, Cincinnati, Iowa State, and BYU. Since then Central Florida has taken out Arizona in a blowout and fallen to Arizona State in their last pair.

On November 9 versus Arizona State, UCF was outscored 14-10 in the second quarter but otherwise kept the pace in a tough loss 35-31. Dylan Rizk posted 229 yards and a pick. RJ Harvey did most of the offensive work on 127 yards and three scores from 25 carries.

West Virginia Mountaineers Betting Preview

Over on the West Virginia side, they started out the year on a 3-2 run with wins over Albany, Kansas, and Oklahoma State. The Mountaineers went 2-2 in the next four with losses to Iowa State and Kansas State before wins versus Arizona and Cincinnati.

Matched up against Baylor on Saturday, the Mountaineers were down by seven points heading into the fourth quarter but couldn’t close the gap in a 49-35 loss. Garrett Greene threw two scores and a pick among 237 pass yards while also leading the rush on 22 totes for 129 yards and two more scores.

I’ll probably just stay with West Virginia here. The Mountaineers did pretty well on offense for most of the game against Baylor, notching 499 yards (262 rushing) and 29 first downs. The 5-of-13 on third-down conversions wasn’t great though, and WVU allowed 512 yards (329 passing) on the other side. Still, the Mountaineers have scored 31 or more points in three straight and should put up a decent total here.

As for UCF, they nearly toppled Arizona State in a road matchup during their last game but fell just short. The Knights ended up with 406 yards (229 passing), 26 first downs, and 6-of-13 on third-down tries. The defense gave up just 260 yards (161 passing) and 18 first downs on the other side. The nine penalties didn’t help UCF’s cause, though. I think the Knights will hang around in this one but ultimately I like WVU to take the cover/win.

FAU Owls Betting Preview

The Owls opened up the season last Monday versus Indiana State. FAU didn’t have too many issues in that game, cruising to a 97-64 win after 53 first-half points. Tops in scoring was Niccolo Moretti with 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Game two was another winner for the Owls, this time against Coastal Georgia. FAU posted 51 first-half points and eventually took a blowout win 99-49. Ken Evans (six assists) and Kaleb Glenn (three rebounds) each had a team-high 18 points.

I’m leaning toward FAU. You could make a case either way, though. We should have a fun matchup here. The Owls have done well in a couple of relative warmup games so far. In the blowout win over Coastal Georgia, FAU posted a 53-27 rebounding edge, 17 steals, and 26 team assists. This will be their first big test of the season, though.

As for UCF, they held a 44-30 rebounding advantage versus Fort Wayne and hit a decent 23-of-30 (76.7 percent) from the line. The 3-point shooting was ugly, though: 2-of-20 (10 percent). I expect this matchup to be a fairly high-scoring affair and close most of the way as FAU ekes out a cover. It’ll be a good one to watch.

I’ll go with Arizona State here. We should have a pretty great matchup, though. The Sun Devils posted a dominant effort in their road win over Oklahoma State this past weekend. Arizona State notched 529 total yards (304 passing), 26 first downs, and a nice 10-of-16 on third downs. That makes 27 or more points in three of the last four games (all three were wins) for the Sun Devils.

As for UCF, they had a great offensive outing versus Arizona with 602 total yards (308 rushing), 8.7 yards per play, 33 first downs, and 6-of-9 on third-down conversions. The Knights held the Wildcats to just five rushing yards as well. UCF has 24 or more points in three straight games themselves, so we could have a wild shootout this weekend. It’ll be a fun one to watch.

UCF Defense Continues To Be a Problem

UCF sits with a 3-5 record overall, and they are coming off another loss in the last game. UCF faced off against BYU and the defense gave up 37 points, and they ended up losing 13 points. After another weekend of struggles, UCF made a big change and fired defensive coordinator Ted Roof. UCF played two quarterbacks against BYU, and neither was good. Jacurri Brown completed 8 of his 17 passes for 96 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. Two games ago against Iowa State, they were competitive, but they ended up losing 38-35. 

The Knights are averaging 30.4 points, while their defense is giving up 27.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 51st in the league, while the defense is ranked 86th in the league. In this game, UCF is going to need the defense to be better. UCF will face Arizona State following this one.

Arizona Has Been a Disappointment

Arizona has been a major disappointment, and they come into this game with a 3-5 record overall. In the last game against West Virginia at home, Arizona’s defense gave up 31 points, and they ended up losing by five points. Noah Fifita completed 21 of his 32 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns. Quali Conley finished with 16 carries for 74 yards, and a touchdown. Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan finished with 10 carries for 202 yards and a touchdown. 

Arizona is averaging 23.4 points while their defense is giving up 28 points per game. The offense is ranked 100th while the defense is ranked 91st. The defense needs to step up here if they want a chance. Arizona will meet Houston after this game.
