The Butler Bulldogs and the Xavier Musketeers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Cintas Center. Here’s a Xavier vs Butler prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Xavier vs Butler pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Butler had an ugly losing streak that lasted most of December and into January, but outside of that, they’re doing pretty well overall this year. The Bulldogs went 7-1 in their first eight games with a lone loss to Austin Peay among wins over Missouri State, Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State, and Eastern Illinois in that time. Losses to Houston, North Dakota State, Wisconsin, Marquette, UConn, Villanova, St. John’s, Providence, and Creighton followed, then wins over Seton Hall and DePaul around another loss to UConn. Following two more losses to Marquette and Georgetown, the Bulldogs have since beaten Seton Hall, Providence, and Georgetown over their last trio. That gives Butler a sub-500 record of 12-13 through their first 25 games of the season so far.

In the Georgetown game on Saturday, the Bulldogs opened up on a 46-35 advantage in the first half. Butler kept the pace from there on a 51-51 run and took the victory in the end 97-86. Pierre Brooks led the team with 30 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Finley Bizjack added 15 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. Tops off the bench was Landon Moore with his 13 points and six rebounds in 18 minutes of work.

Xavier Musketeers Betting Preview

Over on the Xavier side, they’ve had some mixed results in the record column but haven’t done too badly outside of a rough stretch in December. The Musketeers took out Texas Southern, IUPUI, Jackson State, Wake Forest, Siena, and South Carolina in their first six games, then hit a 3-7 run over the next 10 outings. The wins in that time were over South Carolina State, Morgan State, and Seton Hall. Otherwise, it was losses to Michigan, TCU, Cincinnati, UConn, Marquette, Georgetown and St. John’s. Since then Xavier has gone 7-3 over a 10-game span with losses to St. John’s, Creighton, and Villanova. The wins otherwise came versus DePaul, Villanova, Marquette, UConn, Georgetown, Providence, and DePaul in succession, giving the Musketeers a 16-10 overall run through their first 26 games this year.

In the home rematch versus DePaul on Saturday, the Musketeers came out of the locker room with a 45-31 advantage. Xavier kept it up in the second half with a 40-37 run and took the eventual victory 85-68 in the end. All five starters finished the game in double-figures, led by Zach Freemantle and his 19 points, nine rebounds, and one assist in 29 minutes. Dailyn Swain added 17 points with seven boards and eight assists, while both Ryan Conwell and Dayton McKnight had 14 points each. Marcus Foster chipped in 11 points as well.

Why the Xavier Musketeers will win

 • Xavier has won 12 of its last 13 games at Cintas Center against non-AP-ranked opponents.
 • Butler has lost seven of its last eight road night games against the Big East Conference.
 • Butler has lost the first half in each of its last four games at Cintas Center.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • Butler has won five of its last six games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
 • Xavier has lost five of its last six games following a home win.
 • Butler has won the first half in each of its last six games against the Big East Conference.

Xavier vs Butler Prediction

I’ll lean toward Xavier here. The Musketeers dispatched DePaul without too much difficulty in their last outing, eventually shooting a very nice 58.8 percent from the field and 87.5 percent (21-of-24) from the line. Xavier had just nine turnovers while scoring 15 points off 13 DePaul turnovers on the other side. That makes a 3-1 run in the last four games for the Musketeers, and they’ve scored a combined 176 points in their last two outings.

As for Butler, they did well against a pretty decent Georgetown team in their last outing, shooting 57.7 percent from the field. The 14 turnovers for 19 Hoyas points got the Bulldogs into some trouble though, so they’ll have to watch the mistakes on Tuesday. Butler has scored 82 or more points in three straight games now, so this one could reach a fairly high total if both teams keep the shooting up.

The Georgetown Hoyas and the Butler Bulldogs meet Saturday in college basketball action from the Hinkle Fieldhouse. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Butler vs Georgetown Prediction.

Georgetown Recap

The Georgetown Hoyas come into this game looking to build on their 60-46 win over Seton Hall last time out to improve to 15-9 on the year. After this game, Georgetown will head home for a matchup with the Providence Friars.

Hoyas Looking To Find Some Consistency

Thomas Sorber leads the Hoyas in scoring and rebounding with 14.7 PPG and 8.9 RPG while Jayden Epps has 12.3 PPG with 2.2 APG. Micah Peavy has 14.4 PPG with 5.4 RPG and 3.3 APG and Malik Mack has 13.1 PPG with 4 RPG and 4.6 APG as well to lead the Hoyas in assists while capping off the group of double-digit scorers for Georgetown so far this season. As a team, Georgetown is averaging 70.8 PPG on 45.1% shooting from the field, 30.9% from three and 71.2% from the foul line this season.

Why the Georgetown Hoyas will win

 • Georgetown has won five of its last six day games against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Butler Recap

The Butler Bulldogs come into this game looking to add on to their 82-81 win over Providence last time out to improve to 11-13 on the year. After this game, Butler will head back on the road for a game against Xavier.

Bulldogs Win Back-To-Back Games

Jahmyl Telfort leads Butler in scoring and assists with 15.7 PPG and 3.4 APG along with 4.5 RPG while Pierre Brooks II has 14.8 PPG with 5.3 RPG and Patrick McCaffery has 12.2 PPG with 5 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Butler up to this point in the year. Andre Screen has chipped in 8.3 PPG with a team-high 5.9 RPG to lead the Bulldogs in rebounding while Finley Bizjack has 8.1 PPG with 3 RPG and 2.1 APG and Kolby King has 5.8 PPG with 4.5 RPG as well. As a team, Butler is averaging 73.3 PPG on 45.6% shooting from the field, 36.9% from behind the arc and 74.2% from the foul line so far this season.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • Georgetown has lost 12 of its last 14 road day games against the Big East Conference.
 • Butler has won five of its last six day games at Hinkle Fieldhouse against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Total Points Facts

 • Nine of Georgetown’s last 10 road day games against the Big East Conference have produced a total of 146+ points.
 • Eight of Butler’s last nine games against Conference opponents have produced a total of 143+ points.

Butler vs Georgetown Prediction

I’m on the under in this game. Georgetown hasn’t been the sharpest offensive unit in Big East play and I don’t know if I expect that to change here either. However, one thing that Ed Cooley teams are usually predicated on is good defense and being well-coached. I think the defense travels here, and gives an average Butler team a hard time on that end of the floor. The first meeting between these two finished 73-70 earlier this season and a similar first to 70 wins kind of game would not surprise me here in the slightest. Give me the under in this game.

The DePaul Blue Demons and the Xavier Musketeers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Cintas Center. Here’s a Xavier vs DePaul prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Xavier vs DePaul pick.

DePaul Blue Demons Betting Preview

DePaul got off to a flawless start through their first seven games this year. Since late November however, the Blue Demons have struggled in the win column. Victories over Southern Indiana, Prairie View A&M, Mercer, Duquesne, Eastern Illinois, Northern Illinois and Valparaiso came in that initial opening run, then a rough 2-9 stretch featuring only wins over Wichita State and Loyola Maryland. Otherwise the losses were versus Texas Tech, Providence, St. John’s, Northwestern, UConn, Villanova, Seton Hall, Xavier and Marquette in that time. Since then DePaul is just 2-5 overall. Those wins came versus Georgetown and Seton Hall. Otherwise it was losses to Creighton, Butler, UConn, Villanova and Marquette. That gives the Blue Demons a spotty 11-14 overall record through their first 25 games this year.

In the Marquette matchup on Tuesday, the Blue Demons came into the second half with a modest two-point deficit. DePaul was outscored 34-26 the rest of the way however, leading to a 68-58 loss in the end. Tops in scoring was CJ Gunn with 14 points, five rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes of work. Isaiah Rivera added 13 points with six rebounds and three steals, while David Thomas came off the bench for 11 points, two rebounds, one assist and five turnovers in 31 minutes out on the floor.

Xavier Musketeers Betting Preview

Over on the Xavier side, they’ve been a mixed bag this year. The Musketeers have some nice runs in the books so far, as well as some sketchy stretches. Xavier went 8-2 in their first 10 games with losses to only Michigan and TCU among wins otherwise versus Texas Southern, IUPUI, Jackson State, Wake Forest, Siena, South Carolina, South Carolina State and Morgan State in that time. A 1-5 run came next with a lone win over Seton Hall among losses to Cincinnati, UConn, Marquette, Georgetown and St. John’s. Xavier is 6-3 since then though, beating DePaul, Villanova, Marquette, UConn, Georgetown and Providence. The losses otherwise were versus St. John’s, Creighton and Villanova, which gives the Musketeers a 15-10 record through their first 25 games so far this year.

In the Providence matchup on Wednesday, the Musketeers exited the locker room with a 45-30 edge. Xavier was outscored 52-46 the rest of the way but held on for the win in the end 91-82. Dante Maddox was the team’s leading scorer with his 26 points, three rebounds and one assist. Zach Freemantle added 23 points with nine boards and one steal, while Ryan Conwell had 17points with eight boards and four assists. Dailyn Swain chipped in with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes of work as well.

Why the Xavier Musketeers will win

 • DePaul has lost each of its last nine road day games against the Big East Conference.
 • Xavier has won each of its last nine day games at Cintas Center against non-AP-ranked opponents.
 • DePaul has lost the first half in each of its last nine road day games against the Big East Conference.

Why the DePaul Blue Demons will win

 • Xavier has lost three of its last four day games against the Big East Conference at Cintas Center.
 • Xavier has lost the first half in three of its last four home games against the Big East Conference.

Xavier vs DePaul Prediction

I’ll stay with Xavier. The Musketeers got past Providence in a road matchup without too much difficulty during their latest outing—despite giving up 53.7 percent shooting along the way. Xavier scored 21 points off 13 Friars turnovers and shot pretty well themselves (44.1 percent) in the victory. During this 3-3 run, Xavier has managed to score 71 or more points in all but one game (68 in the loss to Villanova).

The last time these teams met up back on January 11, Xavier took a 77-63 victory. The Musketeers shot well in that one (48.1 percent) and DePaul did not (39.6 percent). The 36-28 rebounding edge helped Xavier quite a bit, but both teams could stand to cut down on the turnovers during this rematch (12 apiece). The Musketeers should be able to control most facets of the game in this home matchup, so I don’t think they’ll have too many issues if they play to their capabilities.

The Butler Bulldogs and Seton Hall Pirates meet Wednesday in college basketball action at the Prudential Center. Here’s a Seton Hall vs Butler Prediction. This article will include a Seton Hall vs Butler Pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs lost to Marquette and Georgetown, and they play Providence, Georgetown, and Xavier next. The Butler Bulldogs are averaging 72.9 points on 45 percent shooting and allowing 72.1 points on 42.9 percent shooting. Jahmyl Terlfort is averaging 15.9 points and 4.5 rebounds, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 14.8 points and 1.7 assists. Patrick McCaffery is the third double-digit scorer and Andre Screen is grabbing 6 rebounds. The Butler Bulldogs are shooting 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 74.7 percent from the free throw line. The Butler Bulldogs are allowing 30.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32.2 rebounds per game.

Seton Hall Pirates Betting Preview

The Seton Hall Pirates lost to Providence and DePaul, and they play Georgetown, UCONN, and Marquette next. The Seton Hall Pirates are averaging 63.6 points on 40.4 percent shooting and allowing 69.3 points on 46 percent shooting. Isaiah Coleman is averaging 15.3 points and 1.6 assists, while Chaunce Jenkins is averaging 11.4 points and 3.9 rebounds. Dylan Addae-Wusu is dishing 2.9 assists and Prince Aligbe is grabbing 3.5 rebounds. The Seton Hall Pirates are shooting 33.1 percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent from the free throw line. The Seton Hall Pirates are allowing 36.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 29 rebounds per game.

Why the Seton Hall Pirates will win

 • Butler has lost each of its last eight road games following a road loss.
 • Seton Hall has won each of its last seven games against Butler at Prudential Center.
 • Butler has lost the first half in 15 of its last 18 road night games against the Big East Conference.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • Seton Hall has lost the first half in each of its last seven night games against the Big East Conference.

Total Points Facts

 • Each of Butler’s last 10 night games against the Big East Conference has produced a total of 138+ points.
 • Four of Seton Hall’s last five games against Conference opponents have produced a total of 135 or fewer points.

Matchup/League Facts

 • Seton Hall ranks 4th among Division 1 teams for opponent field goal attempts per game this season (50.6).
 • Seton Hall ranks 358th among Division 1 teams for points per game this season (63.5).
 • Butler ranks 363rd among Division 1 teams for steals per game this season (3.5).
 • Butler ranks 362nd among Division 1 teams for opponent turnovers per game this season (7.5).

Seton Hall vs Butler Injury Report

Butler will be without Jamie Kaiser Jr. and Augusto Cassia. Seton Hall will be without Zion Harmon and Chaunce Jenkins, while Dylan Addae-Wusu is questionable with an ankle injury.

Seton Hall vs Butler Prediction

The Seton Hall Pirates aren’t getting any love from oddsmakers when they’ve lost nine of their last 10 games and haven’t won a game since January 8. Seton Hall is banged up, and scoring during this losing stretch has been a chore. However, let’s not act like Butler is lighting the world on fire as the Bulldogs have lost eight of their last 10 games, and they have yet to win on the road this season. Seton Hall also hung around with Butler last month, losing by just five points and covering the line of six points. Injuries and low confidence aside, this is a winnable game for Seton Hall. I’ll grab the points with the Pirates.

]]>
In this article, we will formulate a Georgetown vs Butler Prediction for this college basketball game on Friday, January 31st, at the Capital One Arena. Let’s take a look at the Georgetown Hoyas vs Butler Bulldogs pick.

How Can Butler Bounce Back?

Butler didn’t look awful in the last game against Marquette but they couldn’t make the winning shots and ended up losing 78-69. At halftime, they were down 42-25 but in the second half the offense scored only 27 points and they ended up losing. Butler allowed Marquette to shoot 50.8 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from behind the three-point line. Two games ago against DePaul, Butler ended up winning 86-69.

Butler comes into this game with a 9-12 record overall and they have gone 10-11 against the spread. The over has hit in 11 of the 21 games so far this season. Butler is averaging 73 points while their defense is giving up 72 points per game. The offense is ranked 226th in the league while the defense is ranked 203rd in the league. Jahmyl Telfort is averaging 16.2 points while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from behind the three-point line.

Why Georgetown Will Beat Butler

 • Butler has lost each of its last six road night games against Conference opponents.
 • Georgetown has won seven of its last eight games at Capital One Arena against non-AP-ranked opponents.
 • Georgetown has won the first half in seven of its last eight games at Capital One Arena against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Georgetown Blown Out

Georgetown faced off against St. John’s in the last game and they really didn’t look good. Georgetown faced off against St John’s and they only scored 41 points. The defense wasn’t awful giving up 66 points, but they still didn’t have much of a shot. Malik Mack put up 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists. He was the only player to score in double figures and they need to get the offense going here.

Georgetown is averaging 70.7 points while their defense is giving up 65.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 273rd in the league while the defense is ranked 32nd in the league. One issue for this team is they aren’t getting to the free-throw line. They are averaging only 10.86 free throws per game which is 338th in the league. Thomas Sorber is averaging 14.4 points while shooting 51.2 percent from the field and 18.8 points per game.

Georgetown vs Butler Prediction

Away from home, this season has been a struggle for Butler and they are going to have some major issues getting going here. Georgetown’s defense overall this season actually hasn’t been bad and they are giving up only 65.1 points per game. Butler’s offense is going to really struggle to get any sort of offense going here, and they will move to 0-6 on the road. Back Georgetown to win this game and cover the spread.

The Marquette Golden Eagles and the Butler Bulldogs meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Hinkle Fieldhouse. Here’s a Butler vs Marquette prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Butler vs Marquette pick.

Marquette Golden Eagles Betting Preview

Marquette has maintained form for most of the season, and they’ve got a great record in the bag so far. The Golden Eagles have just one spotty run over three games (back in December); otherwise, they’ve got only one loss in the books. Wins over Stony Brook, George Mason, Central Michigan, Maryland, Purdue, Georgia, Stonehill, and Western Carolina came in Marquette’s first eight games. The next three were losses to Iowa State and Dayton sandwiched around a win over Wisconsin. Marquette is 8-1 in their last nine games, though. The lone defeat came on January 18 versus Xavier (by two points). Otherwise, it’s been wins over Butler, Xavier, Providence, Creighton, DePaul, Georgetown, Seton Hall, and Villanova in that time, giving the Golden Eagles a 17-3 overall record through 20 games so far.

In the Villanova matchup back on Friday, the Golden Eagles hit a 36-26 advantage in the first half, Marquette kept the heat on from there, notching a 51-48 run in the second for an 87-74 victory in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Stevie Mitchell with 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Chase Ross added 18 points with four rebounds and two assists, while Kam Jones had 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Tops off the bench was Royce Parham with his 10 points and two boards in 11 minutes of work.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Over on the Butler side, they got off to a great start this year. Once December hit, however, the Bulldogs hit the skids in a major losing streak. Things have gotten better over the last three games, but Butler is still stuck below .500 overall. The lone loss during their 7-1 start came versus Austin Peay. Otherwise, it was wins over Missouri State, Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State, and Eastern Illinois in that eight-game opening span. The losing streak hit after that however, as the Bulldogs fell to Houston, North Dakota State, Wisconsin, Marquette, UConn, Villanova, St. John’s, Providence, and Creighton during a string of tough matchups. Since then it’s been a 2-1 run for Butler. They’ve got an OT loss to UConn sandwiched between losses to Seton Hall and DePaul in that time, giving the team a 9-11 overall record through the first 20 outings of this 2024-25 campaign.

On Saturday matched up against DePaul, the Bulldogs held a 40-33 advantage in the first half. Butler outscored the Blue Demons 46-36 the rest of the way, resulting in an 86-69 win in the end. Leading team scorer Pierre Brooks posted 29 points with 13 rebounds and two assists with one steal. Jahmyl Telfort added 18 points with four boards and two assists, while Finley Bizjack put up 17 points with two rebounds and two assists. Andre Screen was solid off the bench with 15 points and eight rebounds with two blocks in 26 minutes as well.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • The home team has won five of Butler’s last six games.
 • Butler has won the first half in six of its last seven night games at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Why the Marquette Golden Eagles will win

 • Butler has lost each of its last eight games against Top 10 AP-ranked opponents.
 • Marquette has won each of its last seven night games.
 • Marquette has won the first half in each of its last five night games at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Butler vs Marquette Prediction

I’ll stay with Marquette. The Golden Eagles handled a decent Villanova team quite well in their last outing, hitting 46.7 percent from the field with 34 rebounds and 13 team assists. Marquette got 16 points off 13 Wildcats turnovers and did well from the line on a 22-of-27 rate (81.5 percent). During this current 8-1 run, the Golden Eagles have scored 72 or more points in every win. If they can reach that threshold on Tuesday Marquette will be in great shape.

The last time these teams met up, Marquette secured an 80-70 win at home on December 18. The Eagles gave up a healthy bit of shooting (51.1 percent) but also posted 14 points off 14 Bulldogs turnovers. Marquette can’t rely on ball-handling mistakes this time, but I think the Eagles will be okay if they play to their capabilities.

DePaul Blue Demons Betting Preview

The DePaul Blue Demons lost to Creighton, beat Georgetown, and they play UConn, Seton Hall, and Villanova next. The DePaul Blue Demons are averaging 75.7 points on 44.4 percent shooting and allowing 73.8 points on 5 percent shooting. Jacob Meyer is averaging 13 points and 3.6 rebounds, while CJ Gunn is averaging 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds. Isaiah Rivera is dishing 1.6 assists and NJ Benson is grabbing 5.8 rebounds. The DePaul Blue Demons are shooting 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 71.1 percent from the free throw line. The DePaul Blue Demons are allowing 35.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 3.4 rebounds per game.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs beat Seton Hall, lost to UConn, and they play Marquette, Georgetown, and Seton Hall next. The Butler Bulldogs are averaging 72.6 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allowing 71.9 points on 41.8 percent shooting. Jahmyl Terlfort is averaging 15.7 points and 4.7 rebounds, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 14.4 points and 1.7 assists. Patrick McCaffery is the third double-digit scorer and Finley Bizjack is grabbing 2.9 rebounds. • Butler has won each of its last 10 home games against DePaul.
 • DePaul has lost the first half in each of its last 12 day games against the Big East Conference.

Why the DePaul Blue Demons will win

 • Butler has lost 10 of its last 11 games.
 • The road team has won each of DePaul’s last four games.
 • The road team has won the first half in four of DePaul’s last five games.

Butler vs DePaul Injury Report

DePaul doesn’t have a player listed on its injury report. Butler will be without Jamie Kaiser Jr. and Augusto Cassia, while Kolby King is questionable with a concussion.

Butler vs DePaul Prediction

I’m not excited to back either Butler or DePaul, as these are two slumping teams that aren’t covering numbers. However, Butler is at home, where six of its eight wins this season have come. DePaul is 1-5 SU on the road. The DePaul Blue Demons are also 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games. Butler has won nine straight games against DePaul and is 7-1-1 ATS in those games. DePaul hasn’t won a game against Butler since January 2020. If Butler can’t take care of business in this game at home, it’s curtains on its season. I’ll lay the chalk with the Bulldogs.

In this article, we will formulate a UConn vs Butler Prediction for this college basketball game on Tuesday, January 21st, at the XL Center. Let’s take a UConn Huskies vs Butler Bulldogs pick.

Butler Has Some Issues

Butler has some major issues all season but they are coming off a victory here. Butler scored 82 points and that was enough for them to hold onto the victory. At halftime, they were up 41-35. Butler shot 51 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from behind the three-point line. Pierre Brooks II had a strong game putting up 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists. There were four different players that put up at least 10 points.

Butler sits with an 8-10 record overall and they have gone 8-10 against the spread. Butler is averaging 72.2 points while their defense is giving up 71.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 249th in the league while the defense is ranked 187th in the league. Jahmyl Telfort has been the top player for Butler averaging 15.2 points while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from behind the thee point line.

UConn Looks to Bounce Back

UConn in the last game faced off against Creighton and they didn’t look great. UConn scored 63 points while the defense gave up 68 points. UConn is shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from behind the three-point line. There were different players that put up at least 14 points. Hassan Diarra put up 15 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Two games ago against Georgetown, UConn secured a 68-60 victory.

UConn on the season is averaging 80.9 points while their defense is giving up 68.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 50th in the league while the defense is ranked 85th. They are averaging 58.17 field goals attempted per game which is 214th in the league. From the free throw line, they are shooting 78.8 percent which is 11th in the league. Alex Karaban has been the top player averaging 15.6 points while shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from behind the three-point line.

Why UConn Will Beat Butler

 • Connecticut has won each of its last 14 night games at XL Center.
 • Butler has lost eight of its last nine away games when playing with a rest advantage.
 • Connecticut has won the first half in each of its last six Tuesday home games against the Big East Conference.

UConn vs Butler Prediction

UConn struggled in the last game and they are going to bounce back here. UConn is averaging 80.9 points per game and they are going to put on a show again. They have a balanced attack with the offense, and they are going to be better here. Butler’s defense isn’t going to give them any short. Butler is averaging 72.2 points per game but they aren’t going to get close to that here. Back UConn against the spread.

In this article, we will formulate a Butler vs Seton Hall prediction for this College Basketball game on Wednesday, January 15th at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs are 7-10 (0-6) this year after they lost to Creighton by a score of 80-76 in their last game. Butler was tied at 43 at halftime, but they only scored 33 points in the second half for the loss. The Bulldogs shot 47.6% from the field, 32% on three-pointers, and 66.7% on free throws in the game. Patrick McCaffery led Butler with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Pierre Brooks II added 14 points and seven rebounds in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Bulldogs lost to Providence by a score of 84-65 and St. John’s by a score of 70-62. Butler has lost nine games in a row, but only three of them have been by double digits. Butler has scored 71.6 points per game and they have allowed 71.1 points per game, while also averaging 35.4 rebounds and 14.1 assists per game this season. Jahmyl Telfort is averaging 15.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game this year. Butler is shooting 44.2% from the field, 73.5% on free throws, and 37.2% on three-pointers this season.

Seton Hall Pirates Betting Preview

The Seton Hall Pirates are 6-10 (1-4) this season after they lost to Providence by a score of 91-85 in their last game. Seton Hall was tied at 41 at halftime, but they allowed 50 points in the second half for the loss. The Pirates shot 44.9% from the field, 31.8% on three-pointers, and 80% on free throws in the game. Isaiah Coleman led Seton Hall with 26 points and four rebounds, while Chaunce Jenkins added 17 points and six rebounds in the loss.

Prior to that game, the Pirates defeated DePaul by a score of 85-80 but did lose to Xavier by a score of 94-72 before that. Seton Hall has lost six of their last seven games and they started conference play with a loss to Villanova and Georgetown. Seton Hall has scored 64.6 points per game and they have allowed 66.6 points per game, while also averaging 34.3 rebounds and 11.9 assists per game this season. Isaiah Coleman is averaging 15.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, while Chaunce Jenkins is averaging 11.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game this year. Seton Hall is shooting 40.8% from the field, 65.4% on free throws, and 34.8% on three-pointers this season.

Why Seton Hall will beat Butler

 • Butler has lost each of its last nine games.
 • Seton Hall has won each of its last six games against Butler.
 • Seton Hall has won the first half in seven of its last eight games against Butler.

Total Points Facts

 • Each of Seton Hall’s last five road games against Conference opponents has produced a total of 146+ points.
 • Four of the last five night games between Seton Hall and Butler have produced a total of 127 or fewer points.

Butler vs Seton Hall Prediction

Butler comes into this matchup on a lengthy losing streak and they are looking for their first conference win, but they will be at home for this game. The Bulldogs have allowed 80 and 84 points in their last two games, but they do have the higher shooting percentage in this matchup. Seton Hall is shooting just 40.8% from the field this year and they are scoring 64.6 points per game. The Pirates have allowed at least 91 points in two of their last three games, but they have been competitive in three of their last four. I don’t like either team in this matchup, but I am definitely not laying this many points with this Butler team. Take Seton Hall and the points in this contest.

The Creighton Bluejays and the Butler Bulldogs meet Saturday in college basketball action from Hinkle Fieldhouse. Here’s a Butler vs Creighton prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Butler vs Creighton pick.

Creighton Bluejays Betting Preview

Creighton has certainly had their ups and downs this season, but overall they’re keeping their proverbial heads above water. The Jays took wins in their first four outings of the year over UTRGV, Fairleigh Dickinson, Houston Christian and Kansas City. A losing streak came after that however, as Creighton fell versus Nebraska, San Diego State and Texas A&M. The Bluejays would take wins in their next trio versus Notre Dame, Kansas and UNLV, but then fell in the next pair versus Alabama and Georgetown. Since then it’s been a 2-1 run over the last two games. The Bluejays beat Villanova and St. John’s in consecutive outings, then fell versus Marquette late last week for a 9-6 overall record so far this season.

Matched up against the Golden Eagles last Friday, the Bluejays headed into halftime with a manageable 39-35 deficit. Creighton didn’t end up getting any closer than that however, falling behind even further on a 40-36 run for a 79-71 loss in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Ryan Kalkbrenner, who doubled up on 16 points, 12 rebounds and one assist. Jamiya Neal added 15 points with four rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks. Steven Ashworth put up 13 points with 10 assists for a double-double as well, adding two steals in 39 minutes on the court. Tops in bench scoring was Isaac Traudt with five points and one assist.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Over on the Butler side, they got off to a very solid start this year, but they’ve since hit the skids in a major way over the last several outings. The Bulldogs would beat Missouri State in their opener, then fell to Austin Peay in game two. Butler hit a nice win streak in the next six games though, taking out Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State and Eastern Illinois for a 7-1 start to the season. Since then it’s been all losses, however. Butler has fallen in succession to Houston, North Dakota State, Wisconsin, Marquette, UConn, Villanova, St. John’s and Providence over their last eight outings for a 7-9 overall run thus far this year.

In the Providence game on Wednesday, the Bulldogs came out of halftime looking at a 37-29 deficit and were in trouble. Butler limped through the second half on a 47-36 deficit, resulting in a sizable loss 84-65 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Jahmyl Telfort on 17 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Pierre Brooks with 17 points, two rebounds and two assists with a block. Patrick McCaffery was the only other team player to finish in double-figures during the defeat, notching 12 points with three rebounds and one assist. Finley Bizjack led the bench scoring with his six points, two rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • The home team has won each of Creighton’s last seven games.
 • Creighton has lost four of its last five away games when playing with a rest advantage.
 • Butler has won the first half in six of its last seven home games against Creighton.

Why the Creighton Bluejays will win

 • Butler has lost each of its last eight games.
 • Creighton has won each of its last 10 Saturday day games.
 • Creighton has won the first half in eight of its last 10 day games.

Butler vs Creighton Prediction

I’m leaning toward Creighton. The Bluejays had a tough matchup versus a good Marquette team in their last outing and couldn’t quite keep pace. Creighton shot a tepid 40 percent from the field in that one with 12 turnovers and 22.6 percent (7-of-31) from 3-point range. The rebounding (a 41-38 edge) was good though, and Creighton held the Eagles to just 41.4 percent shooting on the other side. The Jays have had a couple of scoring duds over their last four games—57 points exactly in two of those—but overall they’re a pretty good team when it comes to scoring this year.

As for Butler, they’ve been below 66 points in three straight games. The Bulldogs have also given up 70 or more points in eight straight (all losses), so Creighton should have plenty of openings in this one.

The Butler Bulldogs and Providence Friars meet Wednesday in college basketball action at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. Here’s a Providence vs Butler Prediction. This article will include a Providence vs Butler Pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs lost to St. John’s and Villanova, and they play Creighton, Seton Hall, and UCONN next. The Butler Bulldogs are averaging 71.8 points on 44.2 percent shooting and allowing 69.7 points on 39.8 percent shooting. Jahmyl Terlfort is averaging 15.8 points and 5 rebounds, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 14.8 points and 1.7 assists. Patrick McCaffery is the third double-digit scorer and Kolby King is grabbing 4.9 rebounds. The Butler Bulldogs are shooting 38.2 percent from beyond the arc and 73.4 percent from the free throw line. The Butler Bulldogs are allowing 29.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32.7 rebounds per game.

Providence Friars Betting Preview

The Providence Friars lost to UCONN and Marquette, and they play Seton Hall, Creighton, and Villanova next. The Providence Friars are averaging 70 points on 43.3 percent shooting and allowing 67.5 points on 40.6 percent shooting. Bryce Hopkins is averaging 17 points and 7.7 rebounds, while Jayden Pierre is averaging 13.4 points and 2.9 rebounds. Bensley Joseph is the third double-digit scorer and Wesley Cardet Jr. is grabbing 3.9 rebounds. The Providence Friars are shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 69.3 percent from the free throw line. The Providence Friars are allowing 30.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35.3 rebounds per game.

Why the Providence Friars will win

 • Butler has lost each of its last seven games.
 • Providence has won 34 of its last 37 night games at Amica Mutual Pavilion against non-AP-ranked opponents.
 • Butler has lost the first half in 13 of its last 15 road night games against the Big East Conference.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • Providence has lost each of its last four games.
 • Butler has won the first half in seven of its last eight games against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Matchup/League Facts

 • Providence ranks 358th among Division 1 teams for opponent turnovers per game this season (9.1).
 • Providence ranks T22nd among Division 1 teams for opponent three-point field goals made per game this season (6.0).
 • Butler ranks 362nd among Division 1 teams for steals per game this season (3.5).
 • Butler ranks 361st among Division 1 teams for opponent turnovers per game this season (7.7).

Providence vs Butler Injury Report

The Butler Bulldogs will be without Augusto Cassia and Jamie Kaiser Jr. The Providence Friars have three players questionable Bryce Hopkins, Eli DeLaurier, and Christ Essandoko.

Providence vs Butler Prediction

The Providence Friars have three players questionable at the time of this writing, including their best player in Hopkins. Check the injury report before placing a bet. With that said, I still lean toward Providence. Even with injuries and struggles, the Butler Bulldogs haven’t won a game since December 3, and they’re not scoring consistently. Butler has been held under 70 points in four of its last seven games. Providence has seen six of its seven wins this season come at home. There are no excuses for Providence at home against a Butler team that’s in a free fall. I’ll lay the bucket.

The Butler Bulldogs and St. John’s Red Storm meet Saturday in college basketball action at the Carnesecca Arena. Here’s a St. John’s vs Butler Prediction. This article will include a St. John’s vs Butler Pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs lost to UCONN and Villanova, and they play Providence, Creighton, and Seton Hall next. The Butler Bulldogs are averaging 72.5 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allowing 69.6 points on 40.1 percent shooting. Jahmyl Terlfort is averaging 16.1 points and 5.1 rebounds, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 14.6 points and 1.6 assists. Patrick McCaffery is the third double-digit scorer and Kolby King is grabbing 4.9 rebounds. The Butler Bulldogs are shooting 38.4 percent from beyond the arc and 75.1 percent from the free throw line. The Butler Bulldogs are allowing 30.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32.1 rebounds per game.

St. John’s Red Storm Betting Preview

The St. John’s Red Storm beat Delaware, lost to Creighton, and they play Xavier, Villanova, and Georgetown next. The St. John’s Red Storm are averaging 82.7 points on 47.5 percent shooting and allowing 67.5 points on 41.1 percent shooting. RJ Luis Jr. is averaging 16.3 points and 5.9 rebounds, while Zuby Ejiofor is averaging 14.8 points and 1.1 assists. Deivon Smith is the third double-digit scorer and Kadary Richmond is dishing 4.3 assists. The St. John’s Red Storm are shooting 32.9 percent from beyond the arc and 67 percent from the free throw line. The St. John’s Red Storm are allowing 34.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 36.6 rebounds per game.

Why the St. John’s Red Storm will win

 • St. John’s has won each of its last 13 games at Carnesecca Arena.
 • Butler has lost each of its last six games.
 • St. John’s has won the first half in each of its last 12 home games against the Big East Conference.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • Butler has won five of its last six day games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
 • Butler has won the first half in six of its last seven games against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Total Points Facts

 • Each of Butler’s last five games against non-AP-ranked opponents has produced a total of 140 or fewer points.
 • Each of St. John’s’ last four home games has produced a total of 150+ points.

St. John’s vs Butler Prediction

The St. John’s Red Storm should be able to take a lot from their loss to Creighton, as they had their chances to win and probably should’ve on the road. Let’s not forget that St. John’s had a double-digit lead in the first half and made a last-minute comeback in the second half. Despite the loss, St. John’s has to be feeling good after the result. St. John’s is a solid team that can score and get timely stops. The Butler Bulldogs are heading in the opposite direction, as they’ve lost six straight games and have dropped to 7-7 ATS on the season. Butler has a defense problem, allowing 71 or more points in six straight games. St. John’s should be licking its chops at this matchup given its ability to score and Butler’s issue to defend.

Also, the team that’s won each of the last seven games between Butler and St. John’s has also covered the number. The favorite has been that team in all seven games. Thick line, but Butler is free-falling. I’ll play the trends in this spot. It’s hard to take the Bulldogs seriously. Give me St. John’s.

The Villanova Wildcats and the Butler Bulldogs meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Hinkle Fieldhouse Here’s a Butler vs Villanova prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Butler vs Villanova pick.

Villanova Wildcats Betting Preview

The Wildcats took a spotty 3-4 record over their first seven games, losing to Columbia, Saint Joseph’s, Virginia, and Maryland. The wins otherwise were versus Lafayette, NJIT, and Pennsylvania. Villanova is 5-1 since then with wins over Rider, Cincinnati, Temple, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Seton Hall before a loss to Creighton.

In the matchup with the Bluejays on December 21, the Wildcats held a 40-38 deficit by halftime. Villanova was outscored by five points the rest of the way in an 86-79 loss. Eric Dixon posted 27 points with two rebounds to lead the way. Turning in a double-double on 19 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists was Wooga Poplar. Jhamir Brickus also finished in double-figures with 16 options and four assists. The Wildcats didn’t get much out of their bench, though. That group contributed only six points—four of which came from Kris Parker.

Dixon is the lead scorer on the team so far this year. He’s sporting 25.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Poplar is in second but well behind that pace on 13.2 points per game, but his 6.6 rebounds per game are tops on the team. Also in double-figures is Brickus with 11.5 points per game to go along with his 5.6 assists per game.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Over on the Butler side, they were looking great after eight games on a 7-1 record with a lone loss to Austin Peay 68-66. The wins otherwise were versus Missouri State, Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State, and Eastern Illinois. Since then, the Bulldogs have lost their last five straight to Houston, North Dakota State, Wisconsin, Marquette, and UConn, though. A loss here would put Butler back at .500 on the season so far.

In the UConn game, the Bulldogs were looking at a 42-33 deficit by halftime. Butler climbed back with a 41-36 second but still fell 78-74. Both Andre Screen (10 rebounds) and Patrick McCaffery (two rebounds) led the way with 17 points each. Pierre Brooks added 13 points and six rebounds. Coming off the bench with nine points and eight rebounds was Kolby King.

Jahmyl Telfort scored just seven points in the Bulldogs’ last game (with six boards and seven assists) but he still holds the No. 1 spot in scoring with 15.5 points per game. Brooks is second with 15.0 points per game to go along with his 4.6 rebounds per game. McCaffery is also in double-digits on 13.2 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game. King is pretty far back of that trio on his 7.3 points per game but he’s also second on the team with 5.1 rebounds per game this season.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • The home team has won 10 of the last 11 games between Villanova and Butler.
 • Villanova has lost five of its last six games at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
 • Butler has won the first half in six of its last seven night games.

Why the Villanova Wildcats will win

 • Villanova has won each of its last six night games.
 • Butler has lost each of its last five games.
 • Villanova has won the first half in each of its last six night games.

Butler vs Villanova Prediction

I’ll stay with Butler. The Bulldogs have had a pretty rough time during this current losing streak, but to be fair they’ve played some tough teams in that stretch—four of them being ranked. One of those was UConn, and Butler managed a decent showing in a four-point loss there. The Bulldogs have posted 70 or more points in each of the last three outings, losing two by single-digits (Wisconsin and UConn) and one by 10 points (Marquette).

As for Villanova, they couldn’t quite keep pace with Creighton in their last game despite shooting 50 percent from the field and only notching one turnover. The Wildcats have scored 79 or more points in four straight games now, so this one should be a pretty high total. Butler is going to have to hit the gas offensively but I think the Bulldogs can keep a cover/win pace. It’ll be a fun matchup regardless.

The Butler Bulldogs are allowing 29 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32.4 rebounds per game.

Butler vs UConn Prediction

The UConn Huskies are the better team, and they’ve been a cover machine these last few years for the most part. However, UCONN has been in some dog fights lately, and that includes a recent overtime game against Xavier. The Butler Bulldogs are always a tough out at home, and they’re an above average defensive side this season. UCONN should win, but this has the feel of a slow, close game. Give me Butler and the points.

The Butler Bulldogs and the Marquette Golden Eagles meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Fiserv Forum. Here’s a Marquette vs Butler prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Marquette vs Butler pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Butler managed a 7-1 run to start the year with wins over Missouri State, Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State and Eastern Illinois. It’s been losses to Houston, North Dakota State and Wisconsin since then, though.

In the Wisconsin game on Saturday, the Bulldogs were down by 14 points going into the second half. Butler hit 41 points from there but couldn’t come back in an 83-74 result. Pierre Brooks led the team on 23 points and four rebounds in the defeat.

Marquette Golden Eagles Betting Preview

Over on the Marquette side, they beat Stony Brook, George Mason, Central Michigan, Maryland, Purdue, Georgia, Stonehill and Western Carolina in their first eight. It’s been losses to Iowa State and Dayton in the last three games, though.

Matched up against the Flyers on Saturday, the Eagles held a 36-26 edge in the locker room. Marquette folded in the second half on a 45-27 run and lost 71-63, though. Tops in scoring was Chase Ross with 19 points and five boards.

Why the Marquette Golden Eagles will win

 • Marquette has won 24 of its last 25 games at Fiserv Forum against non-AP-ranked opponents.
 • Butler has lost 12 of its last 13 night games against Top 10 AP-ranked opponents.
 • Butler has lost the first half in 13 of its last 14 road night games against Conference opponents.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • The road team has won each of the last three games between Butler and Marquette.

Marquette vs Butler Prediction

I’m leaning toward Marquette. The Eagles are coming off an ugly second half in the Dayton game though, and could use a good bounce-back. Marquette ended up shooting just 40.7 percent in that one with a 38-31 rebounding deficit and 13 turnovers for 16 Flyers points. It was the first time all year that the Eagles had scored fewer than 70 points (63).

As for Butler, they didn’t play terribly against a good Wisconsin team in their latest loss—aside from the 22-of-32 (68.8 percent) from the foul line, that is. The Bulldogs have given up 71 or more points in three straight games (all losses) but to be fair two of those were against ranked teams. This is looking like a pretty fun matchup overall, and I like Marquette to power out the cover at home.

In this article, we will formulate a Butler vs Wisconsin prediction for this College Basketball game on Saturday, December 14th at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs are 7-3 this year after they lost to North Dakota State by a score of 71-68 in their last game. Butler trailed 44-23 at halftime and came up just short in their comeback attempt in the second half. The Bulldogs shot 37.1% from the field, 36.8% on three-pointers, and 75% on free throws in the game. Pierre Brooks II led Butler with 26 points and seven rebounds in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Bulldogs lost to Houston by a score of 79-51 but did win the six games before that. Butler has scored 73.2 points per game and they have allowed 66.1 points per game, while also averaging 37.5 rebounds and 14.3 assists per game this season. Jahmyl Telfort is averaging 17.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, while Butler is shooting 44.7% from the field, 76.5% on free throws, and 40.1% on three-pointers this year.

Wisconsin Badgers Betting Preview

The Wisconsin Badgers are 8-3 this season after they lost to Illinois by a score of 86-80 in their last game. Wisconsin trailed 39-35 at the half, but they did score 45 points in the second half in the loss. The Badgers shot 44.4% from the field, 34.5% on three-pointers, and 66.7% on free throws in the game. Nolan Winter led Wisconsin with 15 points and seven rebounds in the loss.

Prior to that game, the Badgers lost to Marquette by a score of 88-74 and Michigan by a score of 67-64. Wisconsin has scored 81.8 points per game and they have allowed 72.3 points per game, while also averaging 35.3 rebounds and 14.8 assists per game this season. John Tonje is averaging 20.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, while Wisconsin is shooting 45.3% from the field, 83.9% on free throws, and 34.7% on three-pointers this year.

Why Butler will beat Wisconsin

 • Butler has won each of its last four games against non-conference opponents at neutral venues.
 • Wisconsin has lost four of its last five games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
 • Butler has won the first half in each of its last four games against non-conference opponents at neutral venues.

Butler vs Wisconsin Prediction

Wisconsin comes into this matchup trying to snap a three-game losing streak, but they have allowed 86 and 88 points in their last two games. The Badgers are scoring over 81 points per game this year, but defense has been a bit of an issue for them. Butler has dropped two games in a row, including a bad loss to North Dakota State in their last game. The Bulldogs aren’t as efficient on offense, but they are a much better defensive team to start the season. I think we are in for a close game here, but I am going to take the points with Butler and their defense.

The North Dakota State Bison and the Butler Bulldogs meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Hinkle Fieldhouse. Here’s a Butler vs North Dakota State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Butler vs North Dakota State pick.

North Dakota State Bison Betting Preview

The Bison got off to a rocky 3-4 start this year, taking losses to Illinois State, CSU Bakersfield, Southern Illinois, and Samford. Since then it’s been four straight wins over West Georgia, Utah Valley, Weber State, and Northern Colorado, though.

In the Northern Colorado game on Saturday, the Bison were up by three going into halftime. North Dakota State hit a 45-36 run the rest of the way and took the victory 82-70. Leading team scorer Jacksen Moni put up 18 points with seven rebounds in the win.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Over on the Butler side, they went 7-1 in their first eight with wins over Missouri State, Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State, and Eastern Illinois (and a loss to Austin Peay). Game nine was another loss, this time to Houston.

Matched up against the Cougars on Saturday, the Bulldogs were outscored 28-18 in the first half alone. Butler hit a 51-33 run the rest of the way for a 79-51 blowout loss. Both Augusto Cassia and Patrick McCaffery scored a team-high 11 points each. Butler will meet Wisconsin after this game.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • Butler has won 78 of its last 82 games against non-conference opponents at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
 • North Dakota State has lost each of its last eight Tuesday games against non-conference opponents.
 • Butler has won the first half in 16 of its last 17 night games against non-conference opponents at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Why the North Dakota State Bison will win

 • North Dakota State has won each of its last four games.
 • Butler has lost each of its last four night games following a road loss.
 • North Dakota State has won the first half in each of its last four games against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Butler vs North Dakota State Prediction

I’ll lean toward Butler. The Bulldogs need a good bounce-back showing after a tough game against Houston, though. Butler shot a dismal 28.3 percent from the field in that one alongside 12 turnovers and a 41-22 rebounding deficit. It was by far the Bulldogs’ lowest-scoring outing of the year (51), but they’ve hit 71 or more points in all seven wins so far.

As for North Dakota State, they handled a middling Northern Colorado team pretty well in their last game thanks to 53.7 percent shooting. The Bison have scored 73 or more points in all four games during this current win streak, so Butler may have to press hard offensively in order to keep a good pace here. In the end, I like the Bulldogs to pull off the cover, but it should be a fun matchup.

The Butler Bulldogs and the Houston Cougars meet Saturday in college basketball action from Hofheinz Pavilion. Here’s a Houston vs Butler prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Houston vs Butler pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Bulldogs beat Missouri State in their opener this year, then fell to Austin Peay in game two. Since then it’s been wins over Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State, and Eastern Illinois, though.

Back on Tuesday versus Eastern Illinois, the Bulldogs led by nine going into the second half, then hit a 37-31 run from there for a 73-58 win. Both Jahmyl Telfort and Patrick McCaffery notched 20 points each, combining for 13 rebounds.

Houston Cougars Betting Preview

Over on the Cougars’ side, they went 3-1 over their first four with a loss to Auburn among wins over Jackson State, Louisiana, and Hofstra. It’s been a 1-2 run since then for Houston featuring losses to Alabama and San Diego State.

Matched up against the Aztecs last Saturday, the Cougars gave away a five-point halftime lead and eventually lost 73-70 in overtime. Emanuel Sharp led the team on 23 points in the defeat, while LJ Cryer added 21 points with two assists.

Why the Houston Cougars will win

 • Houston has won each of its last 25 games at Fertitta Center.
 • Butler has lost each of its last seven day games against AP-ranked opponents.
 • Houston has won the first half in each of its last 27 games against non-conference opponents at Fertitta Center.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • Butler has won each of its last six games.
 • Butler has won the first half in each of its last six games against non-conference opponents.

Houston vs Butler Prediction

I’ll stay with Houston here. The Cougars could use a good showing, though. In their OT loss to San Diego State, Houston shot just 37.1 percent from the field with 12 turnovers but did have a 40-38 edge on the boards. It was the Cougars’ second overtime loss in the last three games, but the good news is that Houston is matching up pretty well against comparable teams this year overall.

As for Butler, they didn’t have any issues with Eastern Illinois (aside from the 17 turnovers) in their latest win, shooting 52.3 percent from the field. The Bulldogs have scored 71 or more points in each of their seven wins so far, with 66 points in the lone defeat. This one should feature a pretty high total if both teams play to their capabilities, but I like Houston slightly better cover-wise.

The Eastern Illinois Panthers and the Butler Bulldogs meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Hinkle Fieldhouse. Here’s a Butler vs Eastern Illinois prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Butler vs Eastern Illinois pick.

Eastern Illinois Panthers Betting Preview

The Panthers have had a pretty rough year so far. Eastern Illinois has two wins over Earlham and Northern Illinois. Otherwise it’s been losses to Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, DePaul and Valparaiso in their first seven outings.

Back on Friday versus Northern Illinois, the Panthers were up by seven points going into the second half. Eastern Illinois kept it rolling from there in a 72-59 win. Kooper Jacobi put up 19 points with 16 rebounds on a double-double, and Nakyel Shelton lead the way with 26 points.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Over on the Butler side, they’ve got just one blemish on the card so far: a 68-66 loss to Austin Peay. Otherwise the Bulldogs have beaten Missouri State, Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern and Mississippi State.

Matched up against Mississippi State back on Friday, the Bulldogs scored 40 points in the first half and 47 more in the second for an 87-77 win. Jahmyl Telfort was tops on the team with 24 points and two assists. Pierre Brooks added 22 points and nine boards.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

 • Eastern Illinois has lost each of its last 21 road night games against non-Conference opponents.
 • Butler has won 77 of its last 81 games against non-Conference opponents at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
 • Eastern Illinois has lost the first half in each of its last 21 road night games against non-Conference opponents.

Butler vs Eastern Illinois Prediction

I’ll lean toward Butler, even though the line is pretty hefty. The Bulldogs looked great against a very good Mississippi State team in their last outing, hitting a nice 52.8 percent from the field and 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from outside. Butler also had a 44-33 rebounding advantage, but did cough up 14 turnovers. The Bulldogs have scored 71 or more points in all six of their wins so far.

As for Eastern Illinois, they’ve failed to crack 70 points in all five of their losses, but to be fair the Panthers have played a few tough teams this year already. That said, Butler will also fall into that category, and I don’t think EIU has the offensive capacity to stay too close here.

In this article, we will formulate a Mississippi State vs Butler Prediction for this college basketball game on Friday, November 29th, at the Mullett Arena.

Butler Pulled it Out

It wasn’t the prettiest game on Thursday, but Butler was able to secure the 71-69 victory over Northwestern. Butler shot 46.8 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the three-point line. Jahmyl Telfort had a strong game, putting up 23 points, five rebounds, and four assists. There were four different players that put up at least 10 points. Butler on the season is averaging 75.5 points while their defense is giving up 62.7 points per game. The offense is ranked 200th in the league while the defense is ranked 30th. Pierre Brooks II is averaging 16.6 points while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the three-point line.

Mississippi State Dominated

Mississippi State dominated on Thursday against UNLV. At halftime, they were up 45-32 and in the second half, it was even better as they were able to dominate the victory. Jailen Bedford had a strong game putting up 13 points, four rebounds, and one assist. Two games ago against SMU, Mississippi State scored 84 points and they ended up cruising to the victory. There were five different players that put up at least 10 points. The Bulldogs on the season are averaging 86.3 points while their defense is giving up 65.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 31st in the league while the defense is ranked 69th. In this game, Mississippi State is going to need the defense to be good. If the defense struggles, Butler could still be around and win this game. Mississippi State will face Liberty and North Texas following this one.

Mississippi State vs Butler Prediction

Butler won on Thursday, but they didn’t look all that good, and I am not sure they are all that good. Mississippi State put on a show with the offense and defense on Thursday, and it’s going to be much of the same here. Butler’s offense is going to really struggle to get going here, and it will be Mississippi State that is going to cruise. Don’t be shocked when they win this game by 20 points. Back Mississippi State against the spread here.
