Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

The Aggies have been a highly consistent team so far this year. They’ve got just one instance of consecutive losses in the books. Texas A&M started out on a 4-2 run with wins over East Texas A&M, Lamar, Ohio State, and Southern during that time. The Aggies would hit a winning streak after that, taking out Creighton, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Texas Tech, Purdue, Houston Christian, Abilene Christian, Texas, and Oklahoma. Following losses to Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas over the next five games (with wins over LSU and Ole Miss in that time), the Aggies have since won another five straight. Those victories have come courtesy of Oklahoma, South Carolina, Missouri, Georgia, and Arkansas in succession. Overall through 25 games that gives Texas A&M a 20-5 record so far this season.

In the Saturday matchup with Arkansas, Texas A&M was ahead 33-28 by the break. The Aggies came out of the locker room to a 36-33 advantage and took the eventual win 69-61 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Wade Taylor with 18 points, nine assists, three steals, and one rebound in 35 minutes. Zhuric Phelps added 12 points with nine rebounds and four steals with one assist, and Andersson Garcia led the bench scoring with his 11 points, three assists, five rebounds, and two steals in 26 minutes of work on the floor.

Mississippi State Bulldogs Betting Preview

Over on the Mississippi State side, they were looking great in the record column back in early January but since then they’ve struggled amid some tough matchups. The Bulldogs lost just one of their first 15 games (versus Butler). Otherwise, it was wins over West Georgia, Georgia State, SE Louisiana, Utah, SMU, UNLV, Pitt, Prairie View, McNeese, Central Michigan, Memphis, Bethune-Cookman, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt in that time. Since then it’s been a 4-6 run across the last 10 games for the Bulldogs. The wins have come over Ole Miss, South Carolina, Georgia, and Ole Miss again. Otherwise, it was losses to Kentucky, Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri, and Florida at that time. That gives the Bulldogs an 18-7 record so far through their first 25 games of the 2024-25 campaign.

Matched up against Ole Miss in the road rematch over the weekend, the Bulldogs held a 40-33 edge in the locker room. Mississippi State kept it up from there with a 41-38 run and took the eventual win 81-71. RJ Melendez led the team in scoring with 17 points, five rebounds, and a steal. Josh Hubbard bagged 14 points with five rebounds and four assists, and Riley Kugel had 11 points with three rebounds, three assists, and four steals. KeShawn Murphy and Claudell Harris each had 10 points off the bench as well.

Mississippi State vs Texas A&M Prediction

I’ll take a stab at Mississippi State here. You could make an argument either way, though; we should have a fun matchup in-store. The Bulldogs put up another solid win over a good Ole Miss team in their last outing, posting a 48-36 rebounding edge, 38.3 percent shooting allowed from the field, and 15 points off 11 turnovers. It wasn’t perfect though, as the Bulldogs missed nine of their 27 free throws (66.7 percent) and had 13 turnovers themselves. Still, it was a nice bounce-back after a double-digit loss at home versus Florida last week.

As for Texas A&M, they’re sitting on a five-game win streak but they’ve been below 70 points in three straight games. This one’s looking like a pretty close fight, and I like Mississippi State to power it out in the end.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

The Texas A&M Aggies are 19-5 (8-3) this year after they defeated Georgia by a score of 69-53 in their last game. Texas A&M trailed 32-23 at halftime, but they outscored Georgia by a total of 46-21 in the second half for the win. The Aggies shot 40.6% from the field, 30% on three pointers, and 68.8% on free throws in the game. Solomon Washington led Texas A&M with 17 points and five rebounds, while Henry Coleman III added 13 points and six rebounds in the game. 

Prior to that win, the Aggies defeated Missouri by a score of 67-64 and South Carolina by a score of 76-72. Texas A&M has won four games in a row and they are currently tied for third in the SEC standings with an 8-3 record. Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview

The Arkansas Razorbacks are 15-9 (4-7) this season after they defeated LSU by a score of 70-58 in their last game. Arkansas trailed 35-34 at halftime, but they held LSU to just 23 points in the second half in the win. The Razorbacks shot 51.9% from the field, 33.3% on three pointers, and 58.8% on free throws in the game. Zvonimir Ivisic led Arkansas with 25 points and three rebounds, while Johnell Davis added 11 points and three rebounds in the game. 

Prior to that win, the Razorbacks lost to Alabama by a score of 85-81, but did beat Texas by a score of 78-70 before that. Arkansas has won three of their last four games and they are currently 11th in the SEC standings with a 4-7 record. Arkansas has scored 76.7 points per game and they have allowed 68.9 points against per game, while also averaging 35.6 rebounds and 14.8 assists per game this season. Adou Thiero is averaging 16.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, while DJ Wagner is averaging 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game this year. Arkansas is shooting 46.7% from the field, 73.1% on free throws, and 33.8% on three pointers this season.

Texas A&M typically plays very strong defense and they have allowed 53 and 64 points in their last two games. Arkansas has won three of their last four games and they are 2-0 in their last two road games against Texas and Kentucky. The Razorbacks are shooting 46.7% from the field this year and they have scored at least 78 points in three of their last four games. Georgia Bulldogs Betting Preview

Georgia kicked off the year on a pretty nice run. Once the calendar flipped over to 2025 however, the Bulldogs began to struggle in the record column. Georgia hit a 12-1 run in their first 13 outings, losing to only Marquette alongside wins over Tennessee Tech, Texas Southern, North Florida, Georgia Tech, Alabama A&M, St. John’s, Jacksonville, Notre Dame, Grand Canyon, Buffalo, Charleston Southern and South Carolina State. A 2-5 stretch came next with wins over Kentucky and Oklahoma alongside losses to Ole Miss, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas and Florida. Since then it’s been a 2-2 run for the Bulldogs with wins over South Carolina and LSU amid losses to Alabama and Mississippi State, giving Georgia a 16-8 overall run through the first 24 outings of the season so far.

In the Mississippi State game on Saturday, the Bulldogs came out of the locker room with a 40-32 deficit. Georgia got better in the second, recovering on a 43-36 stretch but it wasn’t enough in a 76-75 defeat. Leading scorer Silas Demary posted 23 points with six rebounds and seven assists. Asa Newell added 16 points with four rebounds and three steals, while Dakota Leffew put up 12 points with two rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes of action.

Over on the Aggies’ side, they’ve really got only a rough five-game stretch in the books this year. Otherwise it’s been a very nice run overall. Texas A&M went 4-2 in their first six games with losses to UCF and Oregon, beating East Texas A&M, Lamar, Ohio State and Southern otherwise in that time. Leading the team in scoring was Pharrel Payne with 20 points, four rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Wade Taylor chipped in 15 points, and Zhuric Phelps added 14 points with two boards and two steals. Henry Coleman notched a team-high 16 rebounds along with his six points in 31 minutes of work as well.

I’ll stick with the Aggies. Texas A&M took out a pretty darn good Missouri team on the road in their last outing, thanks to a pretty solid 45.3 percent shooting and 34 rebounds. The Aggies did cough up 13 turnovers for 18 Tigers points in a fairly sloppy overall game (27 total turnovers) and went just 14-of-23 (60.9 percent) from the line. There’s plenty to clean up here, even after a nice win. That said, Texas A&M is 5-1 in their last six games and they’ve held opponents below 69 points in four of those six.

As for Georgia, they’ve been scoring pretty well lately but they’re also giving up quite a bit on the other side. The Bulldogs have 69 or more points in each of the last four games (a 2-2 run) so we should have a pretty decent total here. All things considered though, the Aggies should be in control.

I’m on Missouri here. I get the allure of points with Texas A&M who have been really good this season and have more than held their own in a lot of spots on the road this season. However, I think I have to come to grips with the fact that Missouri is actually good this season. Like, really good. And I was really impressed with the fight they gave to Tennessee even in a losing effort. The Tigers have been a lot more impressive in conference play compared to last year (although it wouldn’t take much to improve on an 0-18 conference season) and I think that they can defend home court with a win and cover here. Also, Texas A&M and Oklahoma played each other earlier this month, and it was a two-point game. The Sooners defend the three-point line and are top-60 in scoring and top-40 in offensive field goal percentage. Oklahoma has shot makers and if those shots are falling, the Sooners can hang with just about any team in the country. This line is a bit too steep. Give me the Sooners and the buckets on Tuesday night.

I’m on Texas A&M in this one. I can understand the allure of taking points with Texas in the home underdog role, but the thing is that I don’t think a letdown is in store here for the Aggies as I think Texas A&M is just the far more talented lineup in this spot. I’m not really all that high on the Longhorns this season, as this is an inexperienced team for the most part that has had a hard time stringing positive results together against top-tier teams. The Aggies are coming off of that big win over Ole Miss and I think they keep the momentum going with a win and cover on the road here.

Texas A&M posted a 38-27 run the rest of the way however, eventually pulling off the win 68-57. Tops in scoring was Zhuric Phelps with 13 points, six boards, and six assists. Wade Taylor added 12 points with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Henry Coleman also finished in double-figures with 10 points and two rebounds in the win.

Ole Miss Rebels Betting Preview

Over on the Ole Miss side, they’ve been a highly consistent team themselves so far this year. The Rebels have yet to lose consecutive games, though they are coming off a rough overtime loss in their latest outing. Ole Miss kicked off the year with a nice 11-1 overall run in their first dozen outings. The lone loss was versus Purdue; otherwise, it was wins over LIU, Grambling, South Alabama, Colorado State, Oral Roberts, BYU, Louisville, Lindenwood, Southern Miss, Southern, and Queens University in that stretch. Following another loss to Memphis on December 28, the Rebels beat Georgia, Arkansas, LSU, and Alabama in succession before falling to Mississippi State over the weekend. The Rebels currently sit at 15-3 overall through their first 18 games thus far.

In the Mississippi State game on Saturday, Ole Miss took a 37-29 deficit into the second half. The Rebels fought back valiantly on a 45-37 run in order to force overtime, but eventually lost in the extra period 84-81. Sean Pedulla was the high man among the starters with 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Jaemyn Brakefield added 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists off the bench, while Matthew Murrell chipped in 15 points.

Ole Miss vs Texas A&M Prediction

I’ll probably stay with Ole Miss. This should be a pretty great matchup though, and one of the highlights of the Wednesday college basketball schedule. The Rebels couldn’t quite topple Mississippi State in their last game, thanks mostly to an ugly 51-29 deficit (19-8 offensive) on the boards. Otherwise, Ole Miss didn’t play too badly, notching 45.5 percent shooting with 14 team assists. The rebounding disparity sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb, however. Kentucky Bounced Back

Kentucky bounced back in a big way in the last game. Two games ago, Kentucky faced off against Georgia and they scored 69 points, but the defense gave up 82 points and that led to the defeat. In the last game against Mississippi State, Kentucky scored 95 points on the way to the victory. At halftime, they were up 49-44 and they held on in the second half they held on for the win. Jaxson Robinson had a huge game putting up 27 points, three rebounds, and two assists. There were five different players that put up at least 10 points. 

Kentucky on the season is averaging 89.2 points while their defense is giving up 74.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 3rd in the league, while the defense is ranked 275th. They are averaging 18.56 assists per game which is seventh in the league. Otega Oweh had a strong game and is averaging 15.6 points while shooting 50 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from behind the three-point line. Abilene Christian Wildcats Betting Preview

The Wildcats’ season kicked off with a 4-3 run featuring losses to Middle Tennessee, Kennesaw State and Montana State. Abilene Christian is 4-2 since then with wins over Omaha, New Mexico State, Hardin-Simmons and Texas Southern.

Texas A&M dispatched a struggling Houston Christian team pretty easily in their last game, hitting a nice 47.1 percent from the field with a dominant edge on the boards 52-25 and just nine turnovers. The Aggies have been looking good over this six-game win streak. They’ve hit 70 or more points in all but one game (57 versus Wake Forest) and have held opponents below 68 points in four straight.

As for Abilene Christian, they had 41 rebounds in their win over a 2-10 Texas Southern team but also coughed up 19 turnovers and shot just 3-of-21 (14.3 percent) from 3-point range. The Wildcats have failed to hit 70 points in three of the last four games, and I don’t think they’ve got the gas to keep any sort of pace with the Aggies. Texas A&M should roll here.

The Huskies managed a 2-2 run over their first four, losing to Texas and Creighton in that time. Since then it’s been a 2-5 stretch for Houston Christian, with losses to Rice, Eastern Michigan, Northern Arizona, UTSA, and Northwestern State.

Outside of a couple of duds against UCF (61 points) and Wake Forest (57 points), Texas A&M has hit 70 or more points in every other game this year.

As for Houston Christian, they’re playing better lately with 71 or more points in five of the last six. The Huskies are also giving up a ton of points to solid offenses though, so Texas A&M shouldn’t have any issues scoring here. The only question will likely be the Aggies’ margin of victory, and I think they’ll get to a cover position in the end.

I’ll try Texas Tech in this one. The Raiders played well versus a good DePaul squad in their last outing, shooting 50 percent from the field with 34 rebounds and just six turnovers. Texas Tech is scoring great this year; they’ve hit 76 or more points in all eight games so far. Needless to say however, Sunday’s game will be the toughest challenge so far for the Raiders.

As for Texas A&M, they didn’t shoot great (38.8 percent) in their win over Wake Forest, and also had 18 turnovers in a sloppy outing. It was the first time since the opener that the Aggies had failed to score at least 70 points. Texas A&M has surrendered 73 or more points in three of the last four games though, so Texas Tech should be able to post a nice total here if the Raiders play well.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons Betting Preview

The Deacons hit a four-game win streak at the start of the year, taking out Coppin State. NC A&T, Michigan and USC Upstate. Wake has gone 3-2 since then however, with wins over Western Carolina, Detroit and Minnesota mixed with losses to Xavier and Florida.

In the Minnesota matchup on Friday, the Deacons were down 29-27 at halftime. Wake Forest played better in the second half on a 30-22 run though, and won 57-51. Tre’Von Spillers topped the team on 18 points and 16 rebounds for a double-double.

I might take a stab on Wake Forest here. The Deacons didn’t shoot great against Minnesota though, so there are some things to clean up. Wake Forest big just 39.6 percent from the field and 6.7 percent (1-of-15) from outside in the win over the Gophers. The 42-27 rebounding edge made up for it though, and Wake was very good (14-of-16) from the line. Still, the Deacons have been at 60 points or below in three of the last five games, and that’s likely not going to cut it here.

As for Texas A&M, they shot 42.9 percent in the win over Rutgers and made 31 of their 42 free throws (73.8 percent). The Aggies were out-rebounded 42-35 however, and went just 2-of-15 (13.3 percent) from outside. Texas A&M has scored 70 or more points in seven straight games, so Rutgers is going to have to hit the gas on offense in order to bag a cover. I think the Knights are up for it, though.
