The Crimson Tide have done quite well this year overall, with only a few scattered losses versus some difficult opponents in the books. Alabama opened up on a 6-2 run with losses to Purdue and Oregon among wins versus UNC Asheville, Arkansas State, McNeese State, Illinois, Houston, and Rutgers. A win streak over North Carolina, Creighton, North Dakota, Kent State, South Dakota State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas A&M came next, then a loss to Ole Miss. The Tide would then take out Kentucky, Vanderbilt, LSU, Mississippi State, Georgia, Arkansas, and Texas over the next seven games before a loss to rival Auburn. Overall that gives the Crimson Tide a 21-4 record in their first 25 games of the year so far.

Matched up against Auburn in their Saturday outing, the Tide were down 42-33 going into the second half. Alabama held the pace from there on a 52-52 run but still took the loss at the end 94-85. Mark Sears led the way in the losing effort with 18 points and two assists, while Grant Nelson doubled up on 12 points with 12 boards and one assist. Clifford Omoruyi had 12 rebounds and eight points, while both Labaron Philon and Aden Holloway led the bench scoring 10 points apiece.

Missouri Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Tigers’ side, they’ve had quite the solid season themselves with relatively few losses. Missouri fell to Memphis in their opener then took out Howard, Eastern Washington, MS Valley State, Pacific, AR-Pine Bluff, Lindenwood, Cal, Kansas, Long Island U, and Jacksonville State. A 1-2 run with a win over Alabama State in between losses to Illinois and Auburn came next, then wins over LSU, Vanderbilt, Florida, and Arkansas. After another loss to Texas, the Tigers hit a 4-2 run. Those losses were versus Tennessee and Texas A&M. Otherwise it was wins over Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, and Georgia in that time. The result so far has been a 19-6 overall run across the first 25 games of the season.

In the Georgia matchup on Saturday, the Tigers opened up on a 41-38 deficit in the first half. Missouri woke up from there on a 49-33 run and took the eventual win at the end 87-74, however. Anthony Robinson led the starters with 15 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and four steals in 26 minutes. Caleb Grill also had 15 points off the bench alongside five rebounds and four steals in 28 minutes on the floor. Mark Mitchell added 14 points with five rebounds and two assists, and Tamar Bates chipped in 13 points with three boards.

Missouri vs Alabama Prediction

I’m going to stick with Alabama here. The Tide are coming off a rough loss to a very good Auburn team though, and they’ll need to get back on the horse quickly. Alabama shot just 38.6 percent from the field and 19.2 percent (5-of-26) from 3-point range in that defeat, giving up 46.2 percent on the other side. The good news is that the Tide were good on the boards with a 49-40 edge and had just seven turnovers. Alabama has scored 80 or more points in eight straight games now, a 7-1 overall run.

As for Missouri, they started pretty slowly against Georgia but everything worked out well in the end. The Tigers did give up 52.5 percent shooting in the win, though. Missouri has now scored a combined 169 points in their last pair of games, and they’ll likely need to keep that going if they’re going to steal a win here. I like a competitive matchup overall but in the end, I think Alabama takes the cover. Should be a fun one to watch.

The Tigers play outstanding defense and with Johni Broome back, the Tigers have the size inside to be able to bang with Alabama on the glass and Auburn’s had no qualms about being able to put up the scoring output to keep themselves in a game like this. I think this is going to be a fantastic game, but in the end, having points with Auburn is where I want to be here.

I think that Alabama is too potent offensively for Georgia to keep pace with here and as such, I’ll roll with the Crimson Tide in this one.

I’m on Alabama in this one. I think this game is genuinely a toss-up and despite not showing it in some of their recent outings, this Alabama offense can cook when they’re called upon. Kentucky’s shown a lot more on that end of the floor, so I don’t blame anyone for wanting to take Kentucky at Rupp Arena which is one of the toughest road environments in all of college basketball, but Kentucky’s defense has also been susceptible and can be had by high-octane offenses like Alabama’s. The Tide have gone 3-0 after a loss this season and Kentucky’s heads might be a bit inflated after wins over Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Florida in 2025 so far. Ole Miss is a much better defensive team so far this year and they have allowed 66 points or fewer in four of their last five games. If this game was at Ole Miss, I think they would have a shot, but I just don’t see the Rebels keeping pace, especially with them struggling to rebound. Take Alabama to cover at home.

Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Preview

The Crimson Tide were able to take wins in their first three games of the season, dispatching UNC Asheville, Arkansas State, and McNeese State in that time. Alabama lost to Purdue in game four, then took wins in their next three over Illinois, Houston, and Rutgers. Alabama would lose their November 30 matchup versus Oregon, but they’ve since hit another winning streak. Those victories came courtesy of North Carolina, Creighton, North Dakota, Kent State, South Dakota State, and Oklahoma for a 12-2 overall record so far this season.

Matched up against Oklahoma in their Saturday game, the Tide came out of the break with a 48-29 advantage and were looking pretty good. Alabama hit a 59-50 run the rest of the way in an eventual win 107-79 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Mark Sears with 22 points, 10 assists, four rebounds, and three steals for a double-double. Labaron Philon added 16 points with five assists and four rebounds, and Grant Nelson was also able to double up in the victory on 12 points and 11 boards. Leading the bench scorers was Derrion Reed with 11 points and three rebounds. Aden Holloway also chipped in 10 points in 19 minutes.

South Carolina Gamecocks Betting Preview

Over on the Gamecocks’ side, they got off to a middling start this season but have found their stride since then. South Carolina posted a rough 3-3 run in their first six starts (against some tough competition, falling to North Florida, Indiana, and Xavier alongside wins versus South Carolina State, Towson, and Mercer. A winning streak ensued afterward featuring victories over Virginia Tech, Boston College, East Carolina, South Carolina Upstate, Clemson, Radford, and Presbyterian. The Gamecocks lost their most recent outing versus Mississippi State, though.

In the Mississippi State game over the weekend, the Gamecocks were blasted 43-18 in the first half and had very little hope of coming back. South Carolina fell even further behind the rest of the way on a 42-32 run and took the loss in the end 85-50. The only player on the team to finish in double-figures was Zachary Davis, who came off the bench to provide 22 points and three rebounds in 24 minutes on the court. Leading the starters was Nick Pringle with his eight points and three rebounds, while Jamarii Thomas added six points and six assists.

Why the South Carolina Gamecocks will win

• South Carolina has won each of its last eight games at Colonial Life Arena.
• Alabama has lost each of its last three night games against the Southeastern Conference.
• South Carolina has won the first half in 16 of its last 18 night games at Colonial Life Arena.

Why the Alabama Crimson Tide will win

• Alabama has won each of its last nine games against South Carolina.
• South Carolina has lost 21 of its last 25 games against AP-ranked opponents.
• South Carolina has lost the first half in 16 of its last 18 games against Top 5 AP-ranked opponents.

South Carolina vs Alabama Prediction

I’ll stay with the Tide here. Alabama dismantled a very good Oklahoma team in their last outing, posting 50 percent shooting from the field with a dominant effort on the boards 51-26 (22-8 offensive). The Tide committed just nine turnovers but did miss eight of their 30 attempts from the line (73.3 percent) which could have been better. That said, Alabama has been on a tear during this six-game win streak. They’ve scored 81 or more points in all six games, with 94 or more in four of them. I’d expect another big total here as well, even on the road.

As for South Carolina, they hit the wall against a talented Mississippi State squad over the weekend, posting a measly 29.1 percent shooting and 10.5 percent (2-of-19) from outside. The 40-32 rebounding deficit and 14 turnovers for 15 Bulldogs points didn’t help either. The defeat broke a seven-game win streak that featured a nice 69 or more points in each outing. South Carolina is up for another tough matchup here (which will be followed by yet another difficult game versus Auburn on Saturday) and I don’t think they’ll keep a cover pace.

Alabama’s offense is ranked 1st in all of college basketball while the defense is ranked 315th in the league. They are averaging 32.78 three-point attempts per game which is 3rd in the league. They are averaging 41.3 total rebounds per game which is also third-best in the league. Mark Sears is averaging 18 points while shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from behind the three-point line. The are five different players that are averaging at least 10.4 points per game. Houston Mallette is dealing with an illness, and he’s questionable in this game. Derrion Reid is dealing with an ankle injury and he’s questionable for this game. Alabama will face South Carolina following this one.

Oklahoma is on Fire

Oklahoma is on fire heading into this game and they still haven’t lost yet so far this season. In the last game against Prairie View A&M, Oklahoma scored 89 points and they ended up cruising to the victory. Oklahoma shot 60.5 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from behind the three-point line. They also shot 91.4 percent from the free throw line, hitting 32 of the 35 shots that they attempted from the free throw line. Jalon Moore had a strong game putting up 22 points, six rebounds, and two assists. 

Oklahoma on the season is averaging 83.1 points while their defense is giving up 67.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 44th in the league while the defense is ranked 91st. They are shooting 57.6 percent from the field which is 26th in the league. Jeremiah Fears is averaging 17.1 points while shooting 50.3 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from behind the three-point line. There were three different players that are averaging at least 12.6 points per game. Guards Jared Jones and Jeff Nwankwo are both dealing with injuries and are both out for this game. Oklahoma will meet Texas A&M after this game.

This Alabama defense is giving up 77.2 points per game and they are going to really struggle here.
