Washington Commanders vs Atlanta Falcons Prediction 12-29-24 NFL Picks

The Atlanta Falcons and the Washington Commanders meet Sunday in NFL action from Northwest Stadium. Here’s a Washington Commanders vs Atlanta Falcons prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Commanders vs Falcons pick.

Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview

The Falcons got off to a 6-3 start this year, taking out the Eagles, Saints, Buccaneers, Panthers, Buccaneers again, and Cowboys. After losses to the Saints, Broncos, Chargers, and Vikings in the next four, Atlanta stopped the bleeding with a win over the Raiders.

Matched up against the Giants on Sunday, Atlanta scored 17 points in the second quarter and 14 in the third on the way to a blowout win 34-7. Michael Penix had 202 pass yards and a pick, but Bijan Robinson did most of the offensive work on 22 carries for 94 yards and two scores.

Washington Commanders Betting Preview

Over on the Commanders’ side, they took out the Giants, Bengals, Cardinals, Browns, Panthers, Bears, and Giants again during a nice 7-2 start this year. Washington lost to the Steelers, Eagles, and Cowboys before a pair of wins over the Titans and Saints.

In their game with the Eagles on Sunday the Commanders were in trouble on a 27-14 deficit going into the fourth quarter. Washington scored another 22 points from there and won 36-33, though. The Commanders’ Jayden Daniels had 258 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions during a wild game.

Washington Commanders vs Atlanta Falcons Prediction

I’ll go with the Commanders. It’s a pretty tight line though, so you could make a case either way. Washington posted an epic comeback win over a strong Eagles team in their last game, mustering 368 total yards and 23 first downs. The five turnovers were a major blemish though, and helped lead to a pretty crazy game. Washington has won three straight (after a three-game losing streak in November), with their last two victories coming by a combined four points.

As for Atlanta, they rolled right past the flailing Giants on Sunday with 329 yards and 22 first downs alongside a couple of defensive TDs. It was a good return to form on the scoreboard after posting fewer than 18 points in four of the previous five outings. Still, if the Commanders can buckle down on D and retain some of that offensive electricity this Sunday I think Washington will be in a promising cover position down the stretch. Should be a fun one to watch.
