Over on the James Madison side, they got off to a 4-0 start with three huge offensive performances. The Dukes beat Charlotte 30-7, North Carolina 70-50 and Ball State 63-7 but had a little trouble with Gardner-Webb in a 13-6 thriller during game two.

In their latest matchup against LA-Monroe, the Dukes trailed 14-13 going into the final quarter and ended up losing 21-19. Alonza Barnett finished with 251 yards, while George Pettaway carried 13 times for 62 yards to top the rushers.

I’m leaning toward James Madison. The Dukes need to bounce back after a pretty tepid effort versus LA-Monroe, though. JMU posted 399 total yards (251 passing) and 24 first downs in that one but also shot themselves in the proverbial foot with 11 penalties. Defensively the numbers were pretty good overall: 257 yards and 15 first downs allowed with two takeaways.

As for Coastal Carolina, they notched 515 total yards (367 passing) with 7.9 yards per play in their latest win. The Chanticleers did give up 11-of-17 on third downs and had 15 penalties, however. I like this one to be close, with James Madison eking out the cover.
