This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta will be played.

The 2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta will be played at the Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta Greg Norman Signature Course in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The golf course is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,436 yards.

*Jake Knapp won the 2024 Mexico Open at Vidanta with a cumulative four round score of 19 under par.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the first round of the 2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta.

2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta First Round Picks

Jake Knapp $9,100

Last week, Jake Knapp fired a final round 67 at the 2025 Genesis Invitational en route to an eventual 17th place result.

It is noteworthy that Knapp has played exceptional golf at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. More specifically, Jake Knapp won the 2024 Mexico Open at Vidanta.

Beau Hossler $9,200

Beau Hossler has compiled two top 15 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive 12th place result at the 2025 American Express last month.

Additionally, Beau Hossler finished tenth at the 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta.

Taylor Moore $8,900

Taylor Moore has accumulated three top 22 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh-place result at the 2025 American Express last month.

Since the beginning of January, Alex Smalley has played four tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those four events just mentioned, Smalley amassed three top 21 finishes, including an 11th place result at the 2025 Sony Open seven weeks ago.

I also like the look of Smalley from a statistical standpoint. Why? Smalley is currently ranked 11th on overall scoring average (68.71), third in overall strokes gained (1.883), sixth in par four scoring average (3.88), 18th in strokes gained putting (0.584) and 23rd in first round scoring average (69) on the PGA Tour.

In summary, I fully expect Alex Smalley to continue his outstanding play in the first round of the 2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta.

Kevin Yu $8,500

Kevin Yu arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 17 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 17th place result at last week’s 2025 Genesis Invitational.

Greyson Sigg $8,000

The talented American has amassed four top 23 finishes in his last eight tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a ninth-place result at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open four weeks ago.

In those three events just noted, Sigg compiled two top 19 finishes, including an 18th place result at the 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta.

This Sunday, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the final round of the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Let’s take a look at the final round of this event from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings DFS player selections let’s review where the final round of the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will be played.

The 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will be played on two different golf courses over a four-day period. This tournament will be contested on the following two golf courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links: Spyglass Hill.

All golfers in the field will play each course in the first two rounds. The third and final rounds will be played exclusively at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the final round of the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Final Round Picks

Rory McIlroy $10,400

Since the beginning of September, Rory McIlroy has played eight tournaments (PGA and DP World Tours combined). In those eight events just mentioned, McIlroy compiled seven top 11 finishes, including a win at the 2024 DP World Tour Championship in December.

Rory McIlroy certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Let me be more specific. McIlroy is currently ranked fourth in strokes gained off the tee (0.730), second in driving distance (320.2), 17th in scrambling (64.08%) and 20th in par four scoring average (3.91) on the PGA Tour.

After the completion of today’s third round of the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Rory McIlroy is currently tied for second with a three round cumulative score of 15 under par.

Sepp Straka $8,900

Sepp Straka has accumulated three top 15 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a 15th place result at the 2025 Sentry two weeks ago.

Due to Sepp Straka’s quality finish at the 2025 Sentry I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Straka fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Sentry, in relation to the field, Sepp Straka ranked 17th in GIR (greens in regulation-86.1%), fourth in driving accuracy (80%), 19th in putting average (1.661) and seventh in total birdies made (28).

Cameron Davis $7,500

Cameron Davis has accumulated two top 18 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including an 18th place result at the 2025 American Express two weeks ago.

In my opinion, Cameron Davis’s low Draftkings price of only $7,500 presents the best value of any player on this week’s PGA Tour DFS slate.

Nick Taylor $7,200

The talented Canadian arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 12 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2025 Sony Open earlier this month.

Additional golfers I like to perform well in the final round (Draftkings price noted): Collin Morikawa $10,200: Sam Burns $9,100: Tom Hoge $7,700: Tom Kim $8,100: Tommy Fleetwood $9,200.

2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am First Round Picks

Justin Thomas $9,900

The talented American has tallied eight top 30 finishes in his last 12 tournaments on the PGA Tours, including a second-place result at the 2024 ZOZO Championship in October.

Thomas certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Thomas is currently ranked 17th in strokes gained approach (0.977), third in overall scoring average (67.25), 15th in GIR (greens in regulation-78.47%), tenth in scrambling (74.19%) and third in overall putting average (1.619) on the PGA Tour.

Justin Thomas has posted a quality result at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. More specifically, Thomas finished sixth at the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Adam Scott $8,400

Last month, Adam Scott fired a final round 68 at the 2024 DP World Championship en route to an eventual third place result. Scott also finished 15th at the 2025 Sentry earlier this month.

Cameron Davis $6,600

Cameron Davis has accumulated two top 18 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including an 18th place result at the 2025 American Express two weeks ago.

J.J. Spaun $7,000

J.J. Spaun has compiled two top 15 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at the 2025 Sony Open earlier this month.

Due to J.J. Spaun’s impressive result at the 2025 Sony Open I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to see how Spaun fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Sony Open, in relation to the field, J.J. Spaun ranked first in GIR (greens in regulation-84.7%), 19th in putting average (1.721), 11th in total birdies made (19) and second in bogey avoidance (4).

In summary, I fully expect J.J. Spaun to continue his outstanding play in Thursday’s first round of the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round (Draftkings price noted): Ludvig Aberg $9,700: Jason Day $8,900: Sam Burns $9,000: Tom Hoge $7,500: Keegan Bradley $8,500: Patrick Cantlay $9,500.

This week, the PGA Tour presents Draftkings golf fans with the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a DFS perspective.

Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament let’s review the golf courses the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success at this week’s 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Where will the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am be played?

The 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will be played on two different golf courses over a four-day period. This tournament will be contested on the following two golf courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links: Spyglass Hill.

All golfers in the field will play each course in the first two rounds. The third and final rounds will be played exclusively at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Key Player Statistics

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green
  • Strokes Gained: Approach
  • GIR (greens in regulation)
  • Birdie or Better Percentage
  • Strokes Gained: Putting
  • Bogey Avoidance

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Draftkings Picks

Patrick Cantlay $9,400

Earlier this month, Patrick Cantlay fired a second round 64 at the 2025 Sentry en route to an eventual 15th place finish. Cantlay finished third at the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Jason Day $8,900

Jason Day has compiled three top 19 finishes in his last five tournaments played (PGA and DP World Tour events combined), including a third-place result at the 2025 American Express two weeks ago.

Day has posted quality results at this week’s event multiple times over the course of his professional career. Let me be more specific. Since 2015, Jason Day has played the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am nine times. In those nine tournaments just mentioned, Day accumulated a rather impressive eight top 11 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2018 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

In summary, I fully expect Jason Day to continue his outstanding play at this week’s 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Nick Taylor $7,200

The talented Canadian arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 12 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2025 Sony Open earlier this month.

Nick Taylor certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Taylor is currently ranked 14th in strokes gained approach (1.547), 16th in overall scoring average (68), 13th in GIR (greens in regulation-79.17%) and 17th in driving accuracy (69.77%) on the PGA Tour.

Additionally, Nick Taylor won the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Beau Hossler $7,600

Since the beginning of August, Beau Hossler has played nine tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those nine events just noted, Hossler has amassed seven top 23 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship in September.

Lee Hodges $6,200

Lee Hodges has compiled four top 16 finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a ninth-place result at last week’s 2025 Farmers Insurance Open.

In my opinion, Lee Hodges low Draftkings price of only $6,200 presents the best DFS value of any golfer on this week’s slate.

Additional golfers I like to perform well this week (Draftkings price noted): Justin Thomas $10,800: Will Zalatoris $8,400: J.J. Spaun $7,200: Adam Scott $7,600: Mark Hubbard $6,700.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s review where the second round of the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open will be played.

The 2025 Farmers Insurance Open will be played at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California. DFS players should be mindful of the fact that this event will be played on two different golf courses, the Torrey Pines North and South courses.

The entire field of 156 golfers will play both courses in the first two rounds of the tournament on Wednesday and Thursday. Upon completion of the second round of play on Thursday afternoon, a cut will take place. The remaining 65 players and ties will play the remainder of the golf tournament (third and fourth rounds) on the South course.

Hideki Matsuyama $10,500

The 2021 Masters champion arrives at this week’s tournament on the heels of three consecutive top 16 finishes (PGA and Japan Tours combined), including a win at the 2025 Sentry earlier this month.

Due to Hideki Matsuyama’s impressive win at the 2025 Sentry I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to see how Matsuyama fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Sentry, in relation to the field, Hideki Matsuyama ranked fourth in GIR (greens in regulation-87.5%), seventh in driving accuracy (75%), second in putting average (1.556) first in total birdies made (33) and first in bogey avoidance (2).

Hideki Matsuyama also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Since 2018, Hideki Matsuyama has played this week’s PGA Tour event six times. In those six tournaments just noted, Matsuyama compiled an impressive four top 30 finishes, including a ninth-place result at the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open.

In summary, I fully expect Hideki Matsuyama to continue his outstanding play in tomorrow’s second round of the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open.

The talented American has compiled six top 25 finishes in his last eight tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh-place result at last week’s 2025 American Express.

In his first appearance at this event as a professional last year, Griffin finished 31st at the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open. I fully expect Griffin to post a much better result at this week’s event. Why? Ben Griffin is a far better golfer now than he was last year.

The golf courses the field will play this week are La Quinta Country Club, PGA West Tournament Course, and the PGA West TPC Stadium Course.  The final round will occur on the PGA West TPC Stadium Course.

Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.

For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the final round of the 2025 American Express.

Sepp Straka $8,700

Sepp Straka has compiled two top 15 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including a 15th place result at the 2025 Sentry two weeks ago.

It is noteworthy that Straka has posted a good result at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. More specifically, Straka finished fourth at the 2020 American Express.

After the completion of today’s third round of the 2025 American Express, Sepp Straka is currently in solo first place with a three round cumulative score of 23 under par.

This Thursday, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 American Express. Let’s take a look at the first round of this event from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 American Express will be played.

This week’s 2025 American Express is a pro-am tournament that will take place on three different golf courses over the course of a four-day period. The golf courses the field will play this week are La Quinta Country Club, PGA West Tournament Course, and the PGA West TPC Stadium Course.

The entire field will play all three courses over the course of the first three days of competition. The final round will occur on the PGA West TPC Stadium Course.

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the first round of the 2025 American Express.

Sungjae Im arrives at this week’s 2025 American Express on the heels of five consecutive top 13 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a ninth-place result at 2024 Hero World Challenge last month.

Im certainly checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Let me be more specific. Since 2019, Sungjae Im has played the American Express six times. In those six tournaments just noted, Im compiled five top 25 finishes, including a tenth-place finish at the 2020 American Express.

Since the beginning of August, J.J. Spaun has played ten events on the PGA Tour. In those ten tournaments just mentioned, Spaun amassed seven top 30 finishes, including a third-place result at last week’s 2025 Sony Open.

American Express Key Player Statistics
