I certainly like Zach Collaros’s matchup in this CFL contest. Why? Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros draws a Saskatchewan defense that has had issues defending opposing quarterbacks this season. Let me be more specific. Upon the completion of 11 games played in the 2024 CFL regular season, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are ranked a rather low eighth in total opponent passing yards allowed a game (289.1). Keep in mind that the CFL has nine teams in the entire league. What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are not playing good defensive football entering this week’s contest with the Blue Bombers.

Brady Olivera, Running Back, Winnipeg Blue Bombers $12,900

In addition to Zach Collaros, talented Winnipeg running back Brady Olivera has certainly been a key contributor to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers offense in 2024. Let’s review Olivera’s recent game data to better shed light on my previous statement.

In the ten games that running back Brady Olivera has played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 2024 CFL regular season, Olivera accumulated 809 rushing yards, 37 receptions, and 296 receiving yards.

Looking closer at the data just presented, in the ten games that Olivera has played for the Blue Bombers this season, Olivera has averaged a respectable 15.9 Draftkings points a contest.

It is noteworthy that these two teams met earlier this season. Who won? How did Olivera perform in the game? In the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 25-0 shutout victory over the Roughriders last month, Brady Olivera accumulated nine receptions, 80 receiving yards, and added 46 rushing yards.

For the reasons just noted, I am backing Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Brady Olivera as a flex play for this one game CFL Draftkings Showdown contest.

Samuel Emilus, Wide Receiver, Saskatchewan Roughriders $6,900

Roughriders wide receiver Samuel Emilus has been an essential part of the Saskatchewan Roughriders offense this season. Let’s review Emilius’s recent game data to better shed light on my previous statement.

In the 11 games that Samuel Emilus has played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2024 CFL regular season, Emilus has tallied a robust 60 receptions, 630 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns.

I fully expect Roughriders wide receiver Samuel Emilus to continue to post outstanding fantasy numbers versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday night.

The Toronto Argonauts have played their best ball all year at home, where they’re 4-1 SU, and they’ve had an extra week to prepare for this contest. The Argonauts are just an attractive team overall, given they’re first in run offense and run defense. Only laying 2.5 points, I have to lay the reasonable chalk with the Argonauts at home along with the rest advantage.

The Montreal Alouettes look for another win to build on their 8-1 record. The Alouettes are 4-0 SU on the road this season. In the three games that quarterback Davis Alexander has played for the Montreal Alouettes this season, Alexander has accumulated a respectable 657 passing yards and five passing touchdowns.

More recently, in the Montreal Alouettes 33-23 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last week, Montreal starting quarterback Davis Alexander played rather well. More specifically, Alouettes quarterback Davis Alexander accumulated 247 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in the Montreal Alouettes win over Hamilton.

It is noteworthy that Montreal Alouettes quarterback Cody Fajardo is available to play this week. However, as of this writing it appears that Davis Alexander will start this week’s contest versus the Roughriders.

Charleston Rambo, Wide Receiver, Montreal Alouettes, $5,800

How important has wide receiver Charleston Rambo been to the Montreal Alouettes offense this season? In the nine games that Charleston Rambo has played for the Alouettes in the 2024 CFL regular season, Montreal quarterbacks have targeted Rambo a robust 43 times. In those 43 targets just mentioned, Rambo tallied 31 receptions, 410 receiving yards, and four receiving touchdowns.

Earlier today, the Montreal Alouettes announced that wide receiver Tyson Philpot will not play in this week’s CFL game. The unfortunate loss of Philpot should allow Charleston Rambo to have more of an opportunity to prosper within the Montreal offense.

In my opinion, Montreal wide receiver Charleston Rambo presents the best fantasy value of any player on this one game CFL Draftkings Showdown slate.

Reggie White Jr., Wide Receiver, Montreal Alouettes $4,800

In addition to Charleston Rambo, wide receiver Reggie White Jr. has been a key contributor to the Montreal Alouettes offense in the 2024 CFL regular season. A clear illustration of White Jr.’s contribution to the offense can be seen in his performance versus the Roughriders earlier this season. In the Montreal Alouettes 20-16 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders three weeks ago, Montreal wide receiver Reggie White Jr. accumulated four receptions, 50 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns.

Samuel Emilus, Wide Receiver, Saskatchewan Roughriders $6,800

Saskatchewan Roughriders wide receiver Samuel Emilus’s play on the football field this season has been exceptional. In the nine games that Samuel Emilus has played for the Roughriders in 2024, Emilus has accumulated a whopping 48 receptions, 539 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns.

I fully expect Samuel Emilus to continue to post outstanding fantasy numbers versus the Alouettes on Friday night.

The Montreal Alouettes have been sharper on both sides of the ball, and they’re arguably the best defense in the CFL, ranked first in passing defense, total defense and scoring defense. The Alouettes have also had an extra week to prepare. I’ll side with the Alouettes by a touchdown.
