Fulham had 70 percent of the possession and six shots on target, but it wasn’t enough as they couldn’t get the back of the net. It looks like Adama Traore should be back soon from a shoulder injury but Saturday’s game looks like it’s going to be too early. In this game, Fulham is going to need to do more with the scoring chances they have. If they are having six shots on goal, there is no reason they shouldn’t score a couple of goals.

This Fulham team has been one of the big surprises of the season, and they have a ton of confidence heading into this game. On Thursday against Chelsea they were aided by a red card, but they were able to secure the 2-1 victory. Willian scored in the 25th minute and Carlos Vincius scored the game winner in the 78th minute. They had 48 percent of the possession and only three shots on target, but two of them went in the back of the net. In this game, Fulham needs to be the team that attacks early again. They need more than three shots on target to really pressure the Newcastle defense. 

On the other side of this matchup is Newcastle United who sits in 3rd place in the standings having picked up 35 points. On Tuesday, Newcastle played in the EFL Cup quarterfinal and they were able to secure the 2-0 victory. Dan Burn scored in the 60th minute and Joelinton added some insurance in the 72nd minute. Newcastle had 53 percent of the possession and nine shots on target. Two games ago Newcastle had a terrible 2-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday. They didn’t play a full crew, but they need more of an effort like they did in their last game. Newcastle needs to be the team that jumps out to a fast start and puts the pressure on the defense of Fulham. 

Outside of that loss to Sheffield, this Newcastle team has been quite impressive and they are going to continue that success here. Fulham is going to have some issues getting quality scoring chances against this Newcastle and that will be the difference as Newcastle is going to get the job done. Fulham comes into this game sitting in seventh place in the standings having picked up 28 points. Fulham faced off against Hull City last Saturday in the FA Cup, and they were able to secure a 2-0 victory. Fulham had 59 percent of the possession and five shots on target. In the last EPL game, they were able to secure a 1-0 victory against Leicester City. Aleksandar Mitrovic picked up his fifth yellow card in that game against Leicester City, and now he is suspended for this game. He has been the top player for the team this season, so not having him is a big loss. Neeskens Kebano is still dealing with an Achilles injury, and he’s not going to be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Chelsea, who sits in 10th place in the standings having picked up 25 points. Last Sunday, against Manchester City in the FA Cup, they really struggled and ended up losing 4-0. They had only 41 percent of the possession and one shot on target. This Chelsea team has all kinds of injury issues heading into this game. Edouard Mendy, N’Golo Kante, Reece James, Armando Broja, and Wesley Fofana are all dealing with injuries, and they aren’t going to be able to go in this game. David Datro Fofana could very well make his debut in the Premier League in this game. 

Goals are going to be hard to come by in this game. Without Mitrovic, this Fulham team is going to have some major issues getting any quality scoring chances here. With so many injuries for Chelsea, I expect they are also going to struggle and that is going to be the difference here. Look for a 1-0 or 0-0 type of game and this game is going to stay under the total. I am also throwing a few dollars on under 1.5 goals to cash.

Leicester City currently sits in 13th place in the standings having picked up 17 points. On Friday they faced off against Liverpool, and although they were competitive, they ended up losing 2-1. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall opened up the scoring in the 4th minute, but it was two goals late in the first half that led them to losing the game. Leicester City had 43 percent of the possession, but only two shots on target. Patson Daka did suffer a hamstring injury in the last game and might not be able to go in this game. If he can’t go, it will probably be Jamie Vardy that moves into the starting lineup. James Maddison is still dealing with a knee injury, and he won’t be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Fulham, who sits in 7th place in the standings having picked up 25 points. On Saturday, against Fulham, they scored two goals and that was enough to win by a goal. It was a goal by Joao Palhinha in the 88th minute that was the difference as they secured the victory. Fulham had 63 percent of the possession and two shots on target. Fulham comes into this game pretty healthy, and they didn’t suffer any more injuries in the last game. Andreas Pereira is expected to stay in the starting lineup. 

This Leicester City has some major issues, and it starts with the defense. Fulham scored two goals in the last game, and they are going to score at least two goals again here. I don’t think Leicester City is going to get on the board and this will be another victory for Fulham. Back Fulham on the money line.

Fulham comes into this game sitting in 9th place in the standings having picked 22 points. On Monday, Fulham faced off against Crystal Palace, and they were able to secure a 3-0 victory. Aleksander Mitrovic did score in the 80th minute in that game. Fulham had 64 percent of the possession and 11 shots on target. There were some concerns about if Mitrovic was going to be able to play in the last game because of a foot injury, but he played, and he’s expected to play again in this game. Neeskens Kebano, Layvin Kurzawa and Manor Solomon are all dealing with injuries still and they aren’t going to be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Southampton who sits in 20th place in the standings having picked up 12 points. In the last game against Brighton, Southampton didn’t look good giving up three goals and they lost by two goals. James Ward-Prowse scored in the 73rd minute but by that point they were already down by three goals. Theo Walcott is dealing with a calf injury and he’s not going to be able to go in this game. Tino Livramento is still working back from an ACL injury and although he should be back soon, he isn’t ready to be back yet. 

Fulham’s offense looked so good in the last game, and Mitrovic being back is a big boost for this team. Fulham is going to score at least two goals here, and that is going to be the difference here. Southampton isn’t going to be keeping up and Fulham is going to get the job done here.

Fulham currently sits in 9th place in the Premier League having picked up 19 points. On December 17th, Fulham faced off against West Ham, and they played to a 1-1 draw. Mitrovic is still dealing with a foot injury, and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game. If he can’t go, it could spell trouble for this Fulham offense. Neeskens Kebano is still working back from injury, and it could be a while before he is back and healthy. Layvin Kurzawa and Manor Solomon are closer to returning, but they will still be out in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Crystal Palace, who sits in 11th place in the standings having picked up 19 points. On December 16th they faced off against Vallodolid, and they were able to seucre the 2-1 victory. On December 11th against Napoli they didn’t look great, and they were defeated 3-1. Marc Guehi is suspended for this game because of yellow cards and will need to be replaced for this game. Sam Johnstone is dealing with a coccyx injury and will still be out at least a month. 

Even if Fulham does have Mitrovic he isn’t going to be 100 perfect, and he’s going to struggle here in this game. Outside of Mitrovic, this Fulham offense doesn’t have a lot of production, and they are going to really struggle here. All it’s going to take for Crystal Palace is one goal to get the job done.
