This Fulham team has been one of the big surprises of the season, and they have a ton of confidence heading into this game. On Thursday against Chelsea they were aided by a red card, but they were able to secure the 2-1 victory. Willian scored in the 25th minute and Carlos Vincius scored the game winner in the 78th minute. They had 48 percent of the possession and only three shots on target, but two of them went in the back of the net. In this game, Fulham needs to be the team that attacks early again. They need more than three shots on target to really pressure the Newcastle defense. 

On the other side of this matchup is Newcastle United who sits in 3rd place in the standings having picked up 35 points. On Tuesday, Newcastle played in the EFL Cup quarterfinal and they were able to secure the 2-0 victory. Dan Burn scored in the 60th minute and Joelinton added some insurance in the 72nd minute. Newcastle had 53 percent of the possession and nine shots on target. Two games ago Newcastle had a terrible 2-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday. They didn’t play a full crew, but they need more of an effort like they did in their last game. Newcastle needs to be the team that jumps out to a fast start and puts the pressure on the defense of Fulham. 

Outside of that loss to Sheffield, this Newcastle team has been quite impressive and they are going to continue that success here. Fulham is going to have some issues getting quality scoring chances against this Newcastle and that will be the difference as Newcastle is going to get the job done. Arsenal currently sits in 1st place in the standings having picked up 43 points. It has been a special start to the season for this team, but anything less than winning the championship at this point would be a major disappointment. On Saturday, against Brighton, Arsenal were able to secure a 4-2 victory. Arsenal only had 32 percent of the possession, but they did have seven shots on target. Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson are both still dealing with injuries and aren’t going to be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Newcastle United, who sits in 3rd place in the standings having picked up 34 points. On Saturday, Newcastle faced off against Leeds United and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. Newcastle had 59 percent of the possession and five shots on target. Alexander Isak, Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Targett, Emil Krafth, and Paul Dummett are all dealing with injuries, and they aren’t going to be able to go in this game. Callum Wilson came off the bench in the last game, and he could move back into the starting lineup in this game. 

These are two teams who have both elite attacks, and there is going to be no shortage of quality scoring chances here. I expect both teams to score plenty of goals scored, and this game is going to be very high scoring. I like the over 3.5 to cash, but I think the over 4.5 goals has some strong value.

Newcastle currently sits in 3rd place in the standings having picked up 33 points. On Monday, Newcastle scored three goals and that was enough to secure an easy victory. Chris Wood opened up the scoring in the 3rd minute, and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. Newcastle only had 39 percent of the possession and five shots on target.  Newcastle looked really good in the last game, and they probably won’t be making changes heading into this game. Callum Wilson could be healthy though, and he could move into the starting lineup here. 

On the other side of this matchup is Leeds United who sits in 15th place in the standings having picked up 15 points. Leeds United faced off against Manchester City and they were defeated 3-1 in that game. Pascal Strujik scored in the 73rd minute, but it was too little too late as they were defeated. Jack Harrison and Crysencio Summerville are both dealing with fitness concerns, and but it’s expected that they could be ready to go in this game. Tyler Adams is also returning from suspension and that should be a big boost for this team. Patrick Bamford is dealing with a groin injury and it doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to go in this game. 

This Leeds United defense has been an issue this season and they are going to struggle again to defend here. Look for Newcastle to score at least two goals, and that is going to be the difference here as they are going to get the job done. I don’t think Leeds United is going to score either. Leicester City faced off against MK Dons in the EFL Cup on December 20th, and they were able to secure a 3-0 victory. Leicester City had 73 percent of the possession and eight shots on target. The three goals were scored in the 50th minute, including Jamie Vardy who was the last goalscorer. Danny Welbeck, Jakub Moder and Adam Webster all played in the World Cup, but they were all back early enough that they will be able to play in this game. It was a bit shocking that James Maddison didn’t play more in the World Cup, but he is dealing with a knee issue, and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Newcastle, who sits in 3rd place in the standings having picked up 30 points. On Tuesday, against AFC Bournemouth, Newcastle was able to secure the 1-0 victory. The only goal was an own goal, but they were able to win. They had 63 percent of the possession and five shots on target. Alexander Isak is still working his way back from injury, and although he won’t be able to go in this game, he’s going to be back soon. Ryan Fraser and Elliot Anderson are both healthy heading into this game and are expected to get the start. Callum Wilson is expected to get the start here. 

The break came at the wrong time for Leicester City, with them getting hot at the right time. I expect they will continue the hot streak here, though. Even if James Maddison doesn’t play, I expect Leicester City are going to find a couple of goals, and that is going to be the difference here. Back Leicester City on the money line.

Chelsea comes into this game sitting in 7th place in the group having picked up 21 points. Last Sunday, Chelsea faced off against Arsenal, and that game ended in a 1-0 loss. Chelsea had 44 percent of the possession and one shot on target. In a midweek EFL Cup against Manchester City, they were defeated 2-0. Chelsea were out shot 9-5. N’Golo Kante, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, and Reece James are all dealing with inuries and won’t be available to play in this game. Kepa Arrizabalaga are dealing with a foot injury and won’t be able to go in this game. 

Newcastle has been quite impressive heading into this game, and I think the success will continue here. I just don’t trust this Chelsea offense, and that is going to be the difference as Newcastle is going to get the job done. Newcastle might only score one goal, but it will be the difference.
