In the 18 games that Saquon Barkley has played for the Philadelphia Eagles this season (including playoffs), Barkley has amassed a robust 2,329 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, 39 receptions, 309 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

It should also be noted that these two teams met earlier this season. Who prevailed? How did Saquon Barkley perform in the game? In the Washington Commanders 36-33 win over the Philadelphia Eagles five weeks ago, Philadelphia running back Saquon Barkley compiled a massive 150 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Looking closer at the data just presented, in the Washington Commanders victory over the Philadelphia Eagles just mentioned, Saquon Barkley accumulated 30.1 Draftkings points.

In the 18 games that Jayden Daniels has played for the Washington Commanders this season (including playoffs), Daniels has accumulated 4,135 passing yards, 29 passing touchdowns, 978 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.

More recently, in the Washington Commanders thrilling 45-31 win over the Detroit Lions last week, Jayden Daniels played exceptionally well. More specifically, Daniels tallied 299 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and 51 rushing yards in the Commanders upset victory over the Detroit Lions.

Washington Commanders Betting Preview

It’s been a wild season in Washington. The Commanders opened on a pretty great run, then looked sunk following a three-game losing streak in November. Since then however, Washington has surged on an epic winning streak, defying all odds on their way to the Conference Championship Game. The Commanders kicked things off on a 7-2 run with losses to Tampa Bay and Baltimore, then hit that three-game skid with losses to the Steelers, Eagles and Cowboys. Washington powered their way into the playoffs with wins over the Titans, Saints, Eagles, Falcons and Cowboys to finish off the regular season on a 12-5 overall record. Following an intense Wild Card win over the Buccaneers, the Commanders shocked the Lions last weekend in their Divisional Round matchup.

On Saturday in Detroit, Washington was close to a double-digit dog but still found a way to win with an impressive performance. The Commanders pummeled the Lions with a whopping 28 points in the second quarter alone, then finished off on a 14-10 second half for a 45-31 road victory. Jayden Daniels led the team with 299 yards and two scores, while Brian Robinson had 15 carries for 77 yards and two touchdowns of his own. Dyami Brown was the leading receiver with six grabs for 98 yards, and Terry McLaurin had a solid game on four catches for 87 yards and a touchdown.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

Over on the Eagles’ side, they had some early bumps in the road but since their early bye week they’ve looked great. Philadelphia opened on a 2-2 run with losses to the Falcons and Buccaneers, then hit a win streak out of their Week 5 bye. Those victories came over the Browns, Giants, Bengals, Jaguars, Cowboys, Commanders, Rams, Ravens, Panthers and Steelers. Following the Week 16 loss to Washington, Philadelphia finished up with wins over Dallas and the Giants for a 14-3 regular-season run. Since then the Eagles have dispatched the Packers and Rams in a pair of playoff appearances.

Matched up against the Rams during a snowy game on Sunday, the Eagles held a slim 16-15 edge by the end of the third. Philly finished strong on a 12-7 fourth quarter though, powering out the win 28-22. QB Jalen Hurts could only muster 128 pass yards in the tough conditions, but also rushed seven times for 70 yards and a score. Saquon Barkley had 205 rush yards and a pair of touchdowns on 26 carries, though. Leading the receivers during the big victory was Dallas Goedert with four catches for 56 yards. Barkley also caught four balls for 27 yards.

Why the Philadelphia Eagles will win

• The Eagles have won 15 of their last 16 games at Lincoln Financial Field against teams that held a winning record.
• The Commanders have lost eight of their last nine road games against NFC East opponents on a winning streak.
• The Commanders have failed to cover the spread in each of their last four games as underdogs when playing with a rest advantage.
• The Eagles have covered the spread in five of their last six games against NFC East opponents.
• The Eagles have won the first half in each of their last 11 Sunday games.
• The Eagles have won the first quarter in each of their last four games against teams that held a winning record.
• The Eagles have scored the first touchdown in each of their last 12 Sunday games as home favorites.

Why the Washington Commanders will win

• The Commanders have won each of their last seven games.
• The Commanders have covered the spread in each of their last five games as underdogs following a road win.

Eagles vs Commanders Prediction

I’ll take a stab on the Commanders. The Cardiac Kids of Washington need just one more win to conquer the NFC, and during this epic run of seven straight victories it seems anything is possible. Considering the Commanders had won five straight by six points or fewer as they were heading into last weekend’s showdown with Detroit. It was something of a shock to see Washington come away with a two-score victory on the road against a tough squad. The Commanders gathered 481 yards of offense (299 passing) in that one, along with 27 first downs. The defense gave up a whopping 521 yards on the other side, but also forced five turnovers (four interceptions) which ultimately dampened any hopes the Lions had at winning.

As for Philly, they’re coming off a gutsy win over the Rams in some pretty rough weather conditions. The Eagles lost 63 yards on seven sacks but made up for it with 285 rush yards and a couple of key fumble recoveries on defense. For what it’s worth, Philadelphia hasn’t gotten past 28 points in six of their last eight games. If that trend holds it’ll be another close one.

These teams know each other well: Philly won the November 14 game 26-18 at home, and Washington returned the favor with a home win of their own 36-33 on December 22. The Eagles are likely going to try and pound the rush early and often in this second rematch, so the Commanders’ run stuffers will need to be on point in order to help get the defense off the field quickly. It’s yet another tricky matchup for Washington, but at this point they’re no strangers to adversity. Should be a great game; don’t miss this one.

Detroit Lions Betting Preview

The Detroit Lions are 15-2 this season after they defeated Minnesota by a score of 31-9 to end the regular season. Detroit led 10-6 at halftime, but their lead was cut to 10-9 before they scored the last 21 points in the game for the win. The Lions outgained Minnesota by a total of 394-262, lost the turnover battle 2-0, and went 5-12 on third down in the game. Jared Goff threw for 231 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, while Jahmyr Gibbs added 139 rushing yards and three scores. Detroit locked up the NFC North and the #1 seed in the NFC with this victory. 

Prior to that game, the Lions defeated the 49ers by a score of 40-34 and the Bears by a score of 34-17. Detroit has only lost two games so far this year, which came against Buffalo by a score of 48-42 and Tampa Bay by a score of 20-16. The Detroit offense has scored 33.2 points per game with 263.2 passing yards and 146.4 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 20.1 points per game this season. Jared Goff has completed 72.4% of his passes for 4,629 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, while Jahmyr Gibbs has added 1,412 yards and 16 scores on the ground. David Montgomery is expected back for this game, which should be a big boost for the Detroit running game. 

Washington Commanders Betting Preview

The Washington Commanders are 12-5 this year after they defeated Tampa Bay by a score of 23-20 in their last game. Washington trailed 17-13 in the fourth quarter, but they were able to kick a field goal as time expired to get the win. The Commanders outgained Tampa Bay by a total of 350-284, won the turnover battle 1-0, and went 8-15 on third down in the game. Jayden Daniels threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns, while Terry McLaurin caught seven passes for 89 yards and one score in the game. 

Prior to that win, the Commanders defeated the Cowboys by a score of 23-19 and the Falcons by a score of 30-24. Washington has won six games in a row, which came after a three-game losing streak to the Steelers, Eagles, and Cowboys. The Washington offense has scored 28.5 points per game with 215.6 passing yards and 154.1 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 23 points per game this season. Jayden Daniels completed 69% of his passes for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, while also rushing for 891 yards and six scores during the regular season.

Detroit has the highest-scoring offense in the NFL, but their defense is dealing with injuries and is not great. Washington should find success against this Detroit defense, but they need to be close to perfect, as they most likely won’t get some of the stops they got against Tampa Bay. I do think we will see a good amount of points in this game and I don’t think the Lions get stopped more than a couple of times. Take Detroit to cover here.

More recently, in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers convincing 48-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers two weeks ago, Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield tallied 359 passing yards and five passing touchdowns.

In my view, Baker Mayfield is the prime candidate to score the highest DraftKings points in this game. Consequently, I am rolling with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield at the captain for this one game Draftkings NFL Showdown slate.

The Washington Commanders punched their ticket to the postseason in a Wild Card spot, finishing the year 12-5 overall. This marks Washington’s first playoff berth since the 2020 season when the Commanders lost to the Buccaneers and Washington will be hoping for their first playoff win in 20 years having not won in the postseason since 2005.

Jayden Daniels has thrown for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions on 69% passing while also rushing for 891 yards and 6 touchdowns. Brian Robinson Jr. has 799 rushing yards with 8 touchdowns while Terry McLaurin leads the Commanders with 82 receptions for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns. Zach Ertz has 654 receiving yards while Noah Brown has 453 receiving yards and Olamide Zaccheaus has 506 receiving yards on the year. On defense, Bobby Wagner has a team-high 132 total tackles including 75 solo tackles and a pair of sacks while Dante Fowler Jr. has a team-high 10.5 sacks. Big Changes Coming for the Cowboys?

The big question for the Cowboys is if there will be changes after this game, but for now they still have one game left to playoff. The Cowboys’ last game came against the Eagles, and earlier on in the game they were out of it, and as the game went on, it only got worse. Cooper Rush has shown a glimpse at times, but he’s meant to be a backup in the NFL. Against the Eagles, he completed 15 of his 28 passes for 147 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Rico Dowdle did have one of his best games of the season finishing with 23 carries for 104 yards. Brandin Cooks did step up with CeeDee Lamb out and caught four passes for 52 yards. The defense again had major issues and they were cooked. They made two backup quarterbacks for the Eagles look really good. 

The Cowboys on the season are averaging 20.7 points while their defense is giving up 27.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 21st while the defense is ranked 31st. If they want any chance in this game, the defense is going to need to be a whole lot better, or this is going to be a very long game. 

Commanders Have Playoff Bearth Locked Up

The Commanders have their playoff berth locked up, and now they will look for their 12th win of the season. It took overtime against the Atlanta Falcons, and it wasn’t always the prettiest game, but they were able to secure the 30-24 victory. They had to score 10 points in the 4th quarter to even tie it up and then finished it off in overtime with a Zach Ertz touchdown. Jayden Daniels completed 24 of his 36 passes for 227 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also was the top rusher finishing with 127 yards on 16 carries. Two games ago against the Eagles, they were able to secure a 33-363 victory, and they are going to need the offense to be strong again. 

The Commanders on the season are averaging 28.8 points while their defense is giving up 23.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 5th in the league while the defense is ranked 18th. They have done a good job of getting out to a fast start and are averaging 6.81 points per game in 1st quarters of games. Backup running back Austin Ekeler is dealing with a concussion and it’s unclear when he will be back. 

Why the Commanders Will Beat the Cowboys

• The Commanders have won each of their last four games.
• The Cowboys have lost each of their last six games as underdogs following a Division loss.

• The Cowboys have lost the first quarter in six of their last seven January games at AT&T Stadium.

Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Commanders Prediction 

This game is going to be a shootout. One thing we know about this Cowboys defense is they are awful and they aren’t going to magically turn it around in this game. The Commanders are averaging 28.8 points per game and they going to have no issue reaching that number here. Their defense will struggle though and Cooper Rush is going to have a big game. Look for both teams to have some major issues with the defense, and this game is going to be a shootout. I don’t have a strong play on the side, but this is a strong play on the total. Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview

The Falcons got off to a 6-3 start this year, taking out the Eagles, Saints, Buccaneers, Panthers, Buccaneers again, and Cowboys. After losses to the Saints, Broncos, Chargers, and Vikings in the next four, Atlanta stopped the bleeding with a win over the Raiders.

The five turnovers were a major blemish though, and helped lead to a pretty crazy game. Washington has won three straight (after a three-game losing streak in November), with their last two victories coming by a combined four points.

As for Atlanta, they rolled right past the flailing Giants on Sunday with 329 yards and 22 first downs alongside a couple of defensive TDs. It was a good return to form on the scoreboard after posting fewer than 18 points in four of the previous five outings. Still, if the Commanders can buckle down on D and retain some of that offensive electricity this Sunday I think Washington will be in a promising cover position down the stretch. Should be a fun one to watch.

Give me the Arizona Cardinals here. The Seahawks home field advantage hasn’t been there this season, and one of the big reasons has been the defense really struggling. Kyler Murray is playing one of his best years of his career and the Cardinals are going to have a huge game here. The Seahawks’ offense will have no answer, the Cardinals will come out on top here. 

Give me the Vikings against the Chicago Bears here. Caleb Williams has struggled with pressure all year, and he’s going to really struggle again here. The Vikings defense is going to create all kinds of pressure. Sam Darnold is going to have a strong game against the Bears defense, and the Vikings are going to win this game by at least a touchdown. 

New England Patriots/Miami Dolphins Under 46.5 -110 / Washington Commanders +10.5 -110 // $10 bet pays $26.44

This total between the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins is going to be involved in a lower-scoring game. The Patriots’ offense is going to really struggle against the Miami Dolphins’ defense.
