Two weeks ago, in the Philadelphia Eagles thrilling 28-22 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia running back Saquon Barkley tallied a whopping 205 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, four receptions and 27 receiving yards.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

The Philadelphia Eagles were 14-3 during the regular season and they are coming off of a 55-23 win over Washington in their last game. Philadelphia led 27-15 at halftime and they added 28 more points in the second half in the blowout win. The Eagles out gained Washington by a total of 459-350, won the turnover battle 4-0, and went 5-10 on third down in the game. Jalen Hurts threw for 246 yards and one touchdown, while Saquon Barkley rushed for 118 yards and three scores in the win. 

Prior to that game, the Eagles defeated the Rams by a score of 28-22 and the Packers by a score of 22-10 in their first two playoff games. Philadelphia has won 15 of their last 16 games, with the only loss in that span against Washington by a score of 36-33. The Philadelphia offense has scored 27.2 points per game with 187.9 passing yards and 179.3 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 17.8 points against per game this season. Jalen Hurts has completed 69.6% of his passes for 505 yards and three touchdowns, while Saquon Barkley has rushed for 442 yards and five scores in this postseason. 

Kansas City Chiefs Betting Preview

The Kansas City Chiefs went 15-2 in the regular season and they are coming off of a 32-29 win over Buffalo in their last game. Kansas City led 21-16 at halftime, but they trailed 22-21 in the third quarter and they were tied at 29 in the fourth, before kicking a late field goal and forcing a stop on defense for the win. The Chiefs were out gained by a total of 374-368, lost the turnover battle 1-0, and went 5-9 on third down in the game. Patrick Mahomes threw for 245 yards and one touchdown, while Xavier Worthy caught six passes for 85 yards and one score in the game. 

Prior to that win, the Chiefs defeated Houston by a score of 23-14 in their first playoff game, despite being out gained 336-212. Kansas City has won eight of their last nine games, with their lone loss coming against the Broncos in the last game of the regular season, where they were resting starters. The Kansas City offense has scored 22.6 points per game with 222.4 passing yards and 105.3 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 19.2 points against per game this season. Patrick Mahomes has completed 66.7% of his passes for 422 yards and two touchdowns, while Travis Kelce has caught nine passes for 136 yards and one score in the playoffs.

Kansas City comes into this matchup looking to win their third straight Super Bowl, while Philadelphia is looking for revenge on their 38-35 loss in Super Bowl LVII in 2023. The Chiefs haven’t looked overly impressive this season, but they continue to find ways to win games and with Mahomes under center, they are never out of a game. Philadelphia looked dominant in their win over Washington in their last game, but they are heavily dependent on Barkley and the ground game. I know Hurts looked very sharp in that win against Washington, but I am curious to see how the passing attack looks against this Kansas City defense. This should be a great game between two very good teams and while it may seem crazy to go against Kansas City, that is exactly what I am going to do. I think the Philadelphia ground game is going to control the pace of this game and the Eagles defense will be able to generate stops. It is always a concern going against Kansas City and their ability to win the penalty yardage battle, but I am backing Barkley and the Eagles ground game here.

Washington Commanders Betting Preview

It’s been a wild season in Washington. The Commanders opened on a pretty great run, then looked sunk following a three-game losing streak in November. Since then however, Washington has surged on an epic winning streak, defying all odds on their way to the Conference Championship Game. The Commanders kicked things off on a 7-2 run with losses to Tampa Bay and Baltimore, then hit that three-game skid with losses to the Steelers, Eagles and Cowboys. Washington powered their way into the playoffs with wins over the Titans, Saints, Eagles, Falcons and Cowboys to finish off the regular season on a 12-5 overall record. Following an intense Wild Card win over the Buccaneers, the Commanders shocked the Lions last weekend in their Divisional Round matchup.

On Saturday in Detroit, Washington was close to a double-digit dog but still found a way to win with an impressive performance. The Commanders pummeled the Lions with a whopping 28 points in the second quarter alone, then finished off on a 14-10 second half for a 45-31 road victory. Jayden Daniels led the team with 299 yards and two scores, while Brian Robinson had 15 carries for 77 yards and two touchdowns of his own. Dyami Brown was the leading receiver with six grabs for 98 yards, and Terry McLaurin had a solid game on four catches for 87 yards and a touchdown.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

Over on the Eagles’ side, they had some early bumps in the road but since their early bye week they’ve looked great. Philadelphia opened on a 2-2 run with losses to the Falcons and Buccaneers, then hit a win streak out of their Week 5 bye. Those victories came over the Browns, Giants, Bengals, Jaguars, Cowboys, Commanders, Rams, Ravens, Panthers and Steelers. Following the Week 16 loss to Washington, Philadelphia finished up with wins over Dallas and the Giants for a 14-3 regular-season run. Since then the Eagles have dispatched the Packers and Rams in a pair of playoff appearances.

Matched up against the Rams during a snowy game on Sunday, the Eagles held a slim 16-15 edge by the end of the third. Philly finished strong on a 12-7 fourth quarter though, powering out the win 28-22. QB Jalen Hurts could only muster 128 pass yards in the tough conditions, but also rushed seven times for 70 yards and a score. Saquon Barkley had 205 rush yards and a pair of touchdowns on 26 carries, though. Leading the receivers during the big victory was Dallas Goedert with four catches for 56 yards. Barkley also caught four balls for 27 yards.

Why the Philadelphia Eagles will win

• The Eagles have won 15 of their last 16 games at Lincoln Financial Field against teams that held a winning record.
• The Commanders have lost eight of their last nine road games against NFC East opponents on a winning streak.

Eagles vs Commanders Prediction

I’ll take a stab on the Commanders. The Cardiac Kids of Washington need just one more win to conquer the NFC, and during this epic run of seven straight victories it seems anything is possible. Considering the Commanders had won five straight by six points or fewer as they were heading into last weekend’s showdown with Detroit. It was something of a shock to see Washington come away with a two-score victory on the road against a tough squad. The Commanders gathered 481 yards of offense (299 passing) in that one, along with 27 first downs. The defense gave up a whopping 521 yards on the other side, but also forced five turnovers (four interceptions) which ultimately dampened any hopes the Lions had at winning.

As for Philly, they’re coming off a gutsy win over the Rams in some pretty rough weather conditions. The Eagles lost 63 yards on seven sacks but made up for it with 285 rush yards and a couple of key fumble recoveries on defense. For what it’s worth, Philadelphia hasn’t gotten past 28 points in six of their last eight games. If that trend holds it’ll be another close one.

These teams know each other well: Philly won the November 14 game 26-18 at home, and Washington returned the favor with a home win of their own 36-33 on December 22. The Eagles are likely going to try and pound the rush early and often in this second rematch, so the Commanders’ run stuffers will need to be on point in order to help get the defense off the field quickly. It’s yet another tricky matchup for Washington, but at this point they’re no strangers to adversity. Should be a great game; don’t miss this one.

For the Eagles, Byron Young was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. A.J. Brown is dealing with a knee injury and is considered questionable. Of course, it would be a surprise to see Brown sit, but he was limited against the Packers, held to just one catch on three targets.

Eagles vs Rams Prediction

The Philadelphia Eagles are going to get the love from oddsmakers because they’re at home where they don’t lose and while both teams played last week, they don’t have to travel. The Eagles are also 12-6 ATS on the season, with covers in eight of their last 10 games. With all of that said, I still want the touchdown with the Rams. The Rams’ defense has come along lately, which includes allowing single-digit points in four of their last five games. The Rams are explosive offensively at full strength, and I believe in coach Sean McVay more than most coaches in the NFL. Also, the Eagles having a banged-up AJ Brown isn’t ideal. Oh, since December, the Rams are 4-0 ATS and 3-1 SU as an underdog. I would not be shocked if the Rams stole this game outright. Give me the free touchdown.

Can the Packers Bounce Back?

The Packers know one thing, they need to play better than they did against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, or they will be out here. The Packers didn’t get Jordan Love for a full game and they ended up losing 24-22 with a walk-off kick. Malik Willis completed 10 of his 13 passes for 136 yards. Love is officially questionable for this game, but based on what he said to the media after the game, it’s hard to imagine he misses the game. The Packers have now lost two games in a row. One other big negative to come out of the game was Christian Watson getting hurt and it looks like it could have been an ACL injury. 

Linebacker Quay Walker is dealing with an ankle inury and he’s questionable heading into this game. The Packers are averaging 27.1 points while their defense is giving up 19.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 8th best in the NFL while the defense is ranked 6th. Jordan Love has thrown for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Running back Josh Jacobs is having a huge season and he has rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns. Getting out to a fast start is going to be key here. 

Why the Packers Will Beat the Eagles

The Eagles look like the real deal but this is a tough matchup to start the playoffs. The Eagles rested most of their starters in the last game, but they were still able to beat against the New York Giants because of a big game from Tanner McKee. Two games ago against the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles were able to secure the 41-7. Even in that game, Jalen Hurts was rested and they were still able to win in blowout fashion. Hurts suffered a concussion during Week 16 against the Washington Commanders. Although he hasn’t officially been cleared for this game, it’s hard to imagine he’s not going to be able to go here. 

The Eagles are averaging 27.2 points while their defense is giving up 17.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 7th in the league while the defense is ranked 2nd. AJ Brown is dealing with a knee injury and he’s questionable heading into this game. On the season, Hurts has thrown for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He has also rushed 150 times for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns. Nakobe Dean is dealing with an abdominal injury and he’s questionable for this game. 

Why the Eagles Will Beat the Packers

• The Eagles have won each of their last seven games at Lincoln Financial Field.
• The Packers have lost each of their last five games as underdogs against NFC opponents.
• The Eagles have covered the spread in nine of their last 10 games as home favorites following a Division win.

Malik Nabers finished with seven carries for 171 yards and two touchdowns. 

Overall this season the Giants are averaging 16.3 points while their defense is giving up 24.7 points per game. The offense is ranked 31st in the league while the defense is ranked 31st. In this game, if they want to find success they are going to need a good quarterback. Dexter Lawrence II is dealing with an elbow injury and he’s out for the season.

The Eagles are averaging 27.7 points while their defense is giving up 19.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 7th in the league while the defense is ranked 3rd. In this game, if they want to find success,  they are going to need the defense to be good. Creating a couple of turnovers would also be helpful. 

Philadelphia Eagles vs NY Giants Prediction

With the Eagles maybe resting their starters, there are better games on the board to bet. That being said I was super impressed with what Drew Lock was able to do in his last start, and I expect that success is going to continue here. Cowboys Finishing Season Strong

The Cowboys might be eliminated from playoff contention but they continue to fight and have actually been playing pretty well. On Sunday Night Football, the Cowboys faced off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and they were able to secure a 26-24 victory. Cooper Rush completed 26 of his 35 passes for 292 yards and a touchdown. CeeDee Lamp has been dealing with injuries but he has fought through and he finished with seven catches for 105 yards. The running game still has been mostly a non-factor. The Cowboys are averaging 21.6 points while their defense is giving up 26.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 20th in the league while the defense is ranked 30th. 

Can the Eagles Bounce Back?

The Eagles are coming off a disappointing loss against the Washington Commanders, but a lot of that loss could be because of the injury to Jalen Hurts who suffered a concussion. Kenny Pickett came in relief and he also is now banged up. The concussion isn’t expected to be a long-term problem, but it’s something to monitor as the week goes on. The Eagles’ defense was awful giving up 36 points and that led to the three-point defeat. They picked off Jayden Daniels twice, but also allowed him to throw five touchdowns. Saquon Barkley continues to run wild and he finished the game with 29 carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles are averaging 26.8 points while their defense is giving up 18.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 8th, while the defense is ranked 5th. 

Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys Prediction

This feels like a big bounce-back spot for the Eagles, assuming that Hurts is going to be able to go here. The Eagles have Barkley still, and he’s going to run wild in this game. The Cowboys’ defense is giving up 26.9 points per game and they are going to really struggle here. Look for the Eagles to go over the 30-point mark. The defense is also going to put pressure on Cooper Rush and he’s going to have a couple of turnovers here. Back the Eagles to win this game and cover the spread.
